The Texans have again talked to OLB Brooks Reed about moving to inside linebacker.Houston has been giving Reed training camp reps inside for the past few years. After the selection of Jadeveon Clowney No. 1 overall, now is likely the time Reed actually makes the transition. The Texans have a gaping hole next to ILB Brian Cushing. Clowney and Whitney Mercilus will man the outside spots. Reed has proven to be an adequate run defender throughout his career.
Rotoworld - Source: Houston Chronicle May 12 - 6:49 PMNo surprise. It was obvious Brooks Reed was going to make the move to inside linebacker full time in 2014.
Clowney, Reed, Cushing and Mercilus starting at the linebacker positions. Watt, Nix and Pagan on the D-Line.
Romeo Crennel may start the veterans Jerrell Powe at NT and Jared Crick at RE if he feels the rookies aren't ready.
That's when the Texans play their base 3-4 defense. They're going to play different packages with a four-man front.
