New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has heard the criticism of the Seattle Seahawks' play-calling at the end of Super Bowl XLIX, and he believes it is "totally out of line."
"Malcolm and Brandon [Browner], on that particular play, just made a great play. I think the criticism they've gotten for the game is totally out of line and by a lot of people who I don't think are anywhere near even qualified to be commenting on it"

Emmitt Smith, hall of fame running back, called it the dumbest playcall in NFL history. But I'm sure he was bias being a running back. He felt they should have ran the ball with Marshawn Lynch just like 75 % of the country.
2nd and goal at the one yard line with one timeout left. Marshawn Lynch had just picked up four yards with a strong run and nearly scored the Touchdown during the play before on 1st and goal from the five. The only people who defend it are somehow related to the Patriots organization (their coaches, players or fans). Or people who are simply in denial from the Seahawks side (Pete Carroll and Darrell Bevell). Some of the Seahawks own players have publicly questioned their decision to pass in that situation.
This is Super Bowl history that will always be a downer for the Seattle Seahawks. We'll be talking about it 40 or 50 years from now. Even if the Seahawks win their second Super Bowl in three years, next year at this time, I don't think you can ever truly put that loss behind you. We'd just be saying the Seattle Seahawks should have three-peated.
