Horrible news out of One Buc Palace.

As Joe feared when he saw Bucs All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs in a big ol’ ugly knee brace in underwear football, this wasn’t just a precaution of some sort.

Apparently, Wirfs’ right knee was less than ideal. First injured last season, Wirfs had arthroscopic surgery on that knee yesterday, reports ESPN. This appears to have knocked out Wirfs for at least Week 1, per the report, which claims Wirfs had “multiple” setbacks with the injury and he decided to go under the knife yesterday (Tuesday).

Minor setback for a major comeback

Unfortunate news. I agree with the others. Better now then later in the season.

Absolutely.

I do feel like there's some mismanagement here though, it seems obvious now hut we really should have pushed for this in March or April.

July is too late. And I don't think this is the same as other injuries where there's a time frame for healing, it's a nagging injury that MIGHT have got better on its own but really the surgery would cement his status.

Bit frustrating, but it's not a doom gloom situation. One of the best OL coaches in terms of developing players, I'm excited to see what happens
