That's because for all te things he doesn't do well, bortles does a great job of keeping his eyes downfield

I guess that kinda sounded like I'm calling him bad lol when really that was meant as a compliment

Jaguars owner Shad Khan: Gus Bradley to return in 2016

Jaguars owner Shad Khan has announced via statement today that coach Gus Bradley will return in 2016.

Khan's statement:

"I spoke to Gus Bradley today to confirm to him that he will continue as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, It’s evident to see how far we’ve come in many aspects of our game, and Gus deserves a lot of credit for that progress. It’s also evident the considerable work that remains to be done to be where we expect to be at this time next season, which is well above where we stand today. And Gus understands that. Dave Caldwell and I also spoke today and we are both confident that Gus will make 2016 the best year of his career. In the meantime, I expect his coaching staff and team to respond favorably to this news in preparation for Houston on Sunday and then begin thinking about what more they can provide next season. We have high ambitions."

The Jaguars have gone 4-12, 3-13 and 5-10 in three seasons with Caldwell as general manager and Bradley as coach.

They close the season at Houston Sunday.

Whats your take on it? Do you prefer giving him a year? I think its the right move, but not sure what the fanbase consensus is.

edit: Jags fan forum isnt too happy lol

Coaches need 3-4 years to build their team. Bad teams (like my browns, the eagles with chip Kelly) fire their coach before giving them the chance to get their people in place

Jags fan forum is always crying about something. Even when the team wins, they'll find something to cry about. "omg Bortles would of had 5 TDs, instead of only 4 if he sees a wide open Thomas running at the bottom of the field. Brady would have seen him."

I'm fine with it. He was given a 4 year contract and the record of his first 2 seasons shouldn't really be looked at that much. The roster was garbage when him and Caldwell took over. They had to completely overturn and rebuild the roster. You could see signs of solid improvement this year, their 3rd season, mainly on Offense though.

He better do something about the Defense. The DC better get the axe, just like the OC did last year. FA and the draft has to be Defense heavy. It'll help getting Marks and Fowler back, but the Defense still needs more help.

Brady would have seen him. Brady sees everything.

I'm glad you guys are giving him the necessary time to really redo the roster. The Browns are the poster child of firing people too early, and needless to say it hasn't worked out.

Be better than the Browns, Haks.

The absolute lowest Gus can go next year is 8-8, or he gets canned. They had this season gift wrapped and he couldn't do anything with it. The floor is 8-8 next season, or it's time for a new HC. There's absolutely zero excuses next season, which will be year 4.
