There's always a desire to go to a division rival when the team leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Obviously Detroit is the least desirable of the three. As for deciding between Chicago and Minny, I can't do anything but speculate, but I'd think playing indoors has something to do with it.

you could play both sides of that story though. Green Bay gave him the chance to become the player he is today and even let him go before training camp to help him find a team. in spite of what his twitter feed might say, its clear he had more on his mind than "Forever grateful #pack"

that being said, one would think he would try and find a contender instead of going across the mighty Mississippi River...

I guess. But I always saw the "we wanted to give him a chance to find a team" and the "I wanted to thank the fans / organization for treating me well but time to move on" as each side trying to save face.

Vikings are very close to being a contender. They'll never be more than a few pieces away with AP on the team, and Jennings and a healthy Ponder are two big ones.
