So Ryan, how many sacks do you think Watt + Clowney combo is going to get this season?

Houston Texans @HoustonTexans ยท 51m
"I'm gonna give these guys what they want out of me." - Clowney on teammates. #Texans

He's going to wear #90 for the Houston Texans. It's hard to project sack numbers going into a rookie season. J.J. Watt only had 5.5 sacks as a rookie and then 20.5 sacks in year two and 10.5 sacks in year three, and that's with opposing offenses zeroed in to slowing him down with multiple blockers. I'd like to see Jadeveon Clowney rack up double-digit sacks every year but as long as he's making big plays that is all that matters.

People forget that Jadeveon Clowney had several tackles for losses and pass deflections at South Carolina. Those are just as disruptive as sacks.

I'm ready to see what other players the Texans can add in this draft.

UCLA offensive guard Xavier Su'a-Filo: The guard has good feet and hands and is solid in both the run and passing game.

I'm ready to see who the Texans draft in the third round. We don't want to wait too long to draft a quarterback.

We traded up and just grabbed Louis Nix III. He's a very good player but not sure how much he's gonna play.

The Texans may also elect to keep stacking the defense with the 33rd pick tonight. We need a big nose tackle.

Louis Nix out of Notre Dame: 6'2 and 342 pounds
He's drawn comparisons to a young Vince Wilfork

We're going to need that nasty big body up there in the trenches, hopefully taking on multiple blockers, playing next to J.J. Watt while Jadeveon Clowney cleans up the other side and Brian Cushing dominates the middle of the field.

Really good kid. I wouldn't mind the Texans drafting him tonight. It makes a lot of sense especially if the Texans pursue that Ryan Mallett trade. That's probably why they didn't trade back up into the first round to snag Bridgewater or Manziel. They may be going defense with the first pick in the second round.

I had posted that on the last page... LOL. Too tired to do a new write up on this big bad boy. Best nose tackle in the draft, IMO.

Nineteenth pick in third round (83rd overall) - Louis Nix III: DT 6-2 342 Notre Dame

YESSSSSSS!!!!!! We did it, draino. Excellent trade up back into the third round by the Texans. Our defense is about to rock now!!!!!

He's going to start at nose tackle as a rookie. He's better than Jerrell Powe and can eat up two blockers at once to take pressure off J.J. Watt at left end. Romeo Crennel is going to use a beast like this. Trust me. The same way the Patriots use Vince Wilfork. And we're going to use Jadeveon Clowney the same way Romeo Crennel used Willie McGinnest when the Patriots won three Super Bowls in four years in 2001 to 2004.

What did we give up for him?

BOB is trying to recreate the patriots.
Great pass rusher in Clowney, make our OL better, gronk Jr, and Wilfork Jr.

Our DL is going to be ridiculous. JJ Watt, Clowney, Nix III, Mercilus.

Looks like our first overall pick in the fourth (101st overall) and fifth round (141st overall) but he was worth trading back up into the third round. Had we not done so he'd have surely been picked before we came up in the fourth round. We still have one fourth-round pick left (35th pick in fourth round, 135th overall). It's a compensatory pick.
