You won't be able to trade Suh for Watkins.  With the Suh talks, they were saying at best we'd get about the #5 pick.  Then the assumption was we trade #5 and #10 for #1 and get Clowny.
And even if you do you are still trading the Best DT in the game for a prospect.  Stupid imo.

The other talks were saying we could trade up to get Watkins w/ our 1st 2nd and 4th.  I would MUCH rather trade away a 2nd and 4th round pick for Watkins instead of Suh for Clowny.

Clowney is a bit more than a prospect IMO

And suh is borderline toxic

Suh is hardly toxic. If he were toxic you would hear it from the locker room. You don't.
The media amps up every single little thing he does. They are the ones who make him seem toxic.

And the fact is... Clowny has only been a college player. He has never played in the NFL. There are plenty of guys that people think will be "great picks" for the NFL and don't work out.

Aaron curry for example, was supposed to be a pro bowler for 10 years and had all talent, physical skills, measurables, etc and ended up a bust.

The only way I would be open to trading suh is if we take Aaron donald

Suh isn't going anywhere. You don't trade away your best defensive player in the last decade+ when your in a "win now" mode.

Why are we even discussing this?

The only other trade that I can remember that would even resemble this magnitude of a trade was the Herchel Walker trade.

If we do trade Suh, we shouldn't only get one first round pick. We would have to receive 2 - 3 first rounders, a couple of seconds, and more. Even if he is on a contract year. (So, was Walker)

It would have to be along the lines of the Walker trade...

Minnesota Vikings received
RB Herschel Walker
Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1990 (54) (Mike Jones)
San Diego's 5th round pick - 1990 (116) (Reggie Thornton)
Dallas's 10th round pick - 1990 (249) (Pat Newman)
Dallas's 3rd round pick - 1991 (68) (Jake Reed)

Dallas Cowboys received
LB Jesse Solomon
LB David Howard
CB Issiac Holt
RB Darrin Nelson (traded to San Diego after he refused to report to Dallas)
DE Alex Stewart
Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1990 (21) (traded this pick along with pick (81) for pick (17) from Pittsburgh to draft Emmitt Smith)
Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (47) (Alexander Wright)
Minnesota's 6th round pick in 1990 (158) (traded to New Orleans, who drafted James Williams)
Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (12) (Alvin Harper)
Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38) (Dixon Edwards)
Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (37) (Darren Woodson)
Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) (traded to New England, who drafted Kevin Turner)
Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1993 (conditional) - (13) (traded to Philadelphia Eagles, and then to the Houston Oilers, who drafted Brad Hopkins)[1]

The Story:

You don't trade your best player (excluding Calvin ofc) unless your rebuilding, which the Cowboys were.

Lately been watching a lot of anthony Barr tape. He's a big risk reward but if he ended up panning out our front 7 would be all set. We'd have the perfect linebacker combo. Levy as the cover specialist, Tulloch as the run stopper, and Barr as a pass rusher to go with our d line.

Also, what's going on with Jason Jones? Is he going to play week 1?

Everybody is drooling over Khalil Mack and rightfully so, but I believe Anthony Barr out of UCLA, is going to end up being the best "pure" outside linebacker in this draft class. People focus too much on the combine, pro days and then try to force themselves into seeing what they believe to be true on tape. But what they never talk about is the drive, the passion, the will to become a great player in the pros. The intangibles are often overlooked.

I don't think Mack is on our radar.

Even if Mack slips he wont make it past the Failcons.

Brought him in for a visit... I would think that's on our radar. He's the player I want most in this draft. We would probably trade up to 5 if he's still there to be able to grab him
