Exactly what is that suppose to mean/be for?? Through their first 16 games?

Bortles has currently been sacked 87 times in his career.

55 sacks as a rookie last year and 32 sacks so far this season.

Just makes what he is doing, even more impressive.

edit: it's definitely not through their first 16 games as I look over it.. what's the point of these numbers and wherever you got them, what's meaning for them?

It's kind of a weird statistic. Brian Billick was taking the sixteen games in the middle of a player's second season (it's on NFL.com, it's sort of bullshit).

But that many sacks is insane. I knew Bortles O-Line was shit, but for some reason seeing 60+ sacks in essentially a season really drilled it home. I don't blame his mechanics for regressing after last year.

And before you tear me a new one for saying Bortles mechanics regressed, let me say he has responded beautifully this year, and that anyone would bail with that O-Line. :)

Why would I rip into you about you saying his mechanics regressed last year lol? It was clear as day to see his mechanics had regressed. They had to completely rework them and just one off season isn't long enough. Bortles admitted his arm was tired at the end of the year and our GM even came out to say Bortles was just trying to survive last season.

It may end up being better for him in the long run, going through the ringer allows you to grow when your team is at it's worst, and his roster around him will be constantly improving. I will say that some of the sacks bortles takes are stupid and of his own accord (I've seen multiple sacks including ones from last night where he could have simply thrown it away) but I think that shows his downfield vision/want to keep the play alive. Jags are on the upswing, and at 2-8 as much as I hate to say it, I'm hoping for you guys to win the division, because FUCK the colts, and the texans don't have as cool of an offense as y'all. The Allen's +bortles would make a really cool story and a cool playoff game of watching the jags get bounced 14-47 in the wildcard game against the broncos :P

Bortles was definitely better off playing when he did. The best practice is experience.

Bortles does hold onto the ball for too long sometimes and he does make some really stupid throws sometimes. He does need to learn to get rid of the ball a little quicker sometimes and he does need to learn to not force some of those throws.

He's a gunslinger and he tries to make plays. There's a reason why him and Allen Robinson lead the league in plays over 20+ yards. I love how aggressive Bortles is and you have to take the bad with the good. Turnovers are going to happen when you're consistently trying to push it down field.

What he needs to work on is the bad, forced INTs. The same kind of INT he threw last night, trying to force it into Thomas. He had no business making that throw and he knew it as soon as he let it go. He just needed to throw that ball 20 yards into the crowd and move onto the next play.

Not that cut and dry, with hasselback at qb for the next 2-6 weeks I see the colts going 3-4 to finish the season, texans could get hot or flounder, who really knows. The jags have the talent to win the division with an 8-8 record

#Jaguars say Allen Hurns (concussion) is in protocol. Not ruled out for Sunday.

#Jaguars WR Allen Hurns in concussion protocol. Team says tests in regards to his head and neck were negative.

Hays Carlyon ‏@HaysCarlyon 2h2 hours ago
#Jaguars QB Blake Bortles now leads the NFL with 50 completions of at least 20 yards.

Tad Dickman ‏@Tdickman89 1h1 hour ago
I guess it makes sense that @Jaguars WR Allen Robinson (@Thee_AR15) leads the NFL with 21 receptions of 20+ yards.

#Jaguars rule out Hurns, Skuta and Gerhart for Sunday.

The Jaguars have placed RB Toby Gerhart on IR with sports hernia and elevated WR Rashad Lawrence from the prtc squad.

Ryan O'Halloran ‏@ryanohalloran 6h6 hours ago
Gerhart's #Jaguars career almost assuredly over. Totals: 121 carries, 370 yards, two TDs.

Ryan O'Halloran ‏@ryanohalloran 6h6 hours ago
if cut after the season, #Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart wouldn't account for any dead money and would save $3 million.
