I'm feeling the Lions this season. 12-4 record and NFC North champions wouldn't shock me. Tons of talent on that team.

I hope someone hits you over the head with a bag of dicks. Hard ones too. Not those softies you are used to either.

This is hardly the year we find if we are "legit."  It's an entirely new organization.  I will not judge them by this year alone.

Typical packers fan.  Not wanting to give odds.  lmao

This is not a team that needs built. All the games we lost were by a small margin and mostly due to stupid shit like penalties or just plain lack of executing. The coach in place said himself this isn't some "in a few years" team, its time to win now. I have been waiting for way too long, as have the rest of Lions Nation.

Why not though?
Staffords 6th (or 4th, depending how you look at it) year
We have Calvin and now golden Tate
A good 1-2 punch at RB
A very solid o-line
D line is good
2 of our lbs are good
Our secondary is the weakness of the team but with teryl Austin I believe he can do something about that

There's no reason in the world to let anybody off the hook this year
Philly, kc, Indy, etc. have all made playoff with their HCs in the first year

We have to make the playoffs, anything else is a failure

THIS.

I feel as if Austin can bring some of that Baltimore playing style secondary to Detroit, I feel like he can help mold our DBs into something great.
A lot of potential in Slay, etc

Not too sure about Houston though, but still excited

It's a new system. A new organization. Caldwell might not have the pieces he wants in there. I am not saying I do not have high expectations for this season. I am not saying that with our talent we should not make playoffs. I just don't think it is fair to judge this system, this organization, this HC by this year.

According to Caldwell, it's fair to judge him by this year. Win now it's simple

Many coaches have made the playoffs with teams in their first year that don't have as much talent as we do. It is VERY fair to judge this system/organization/HC this year.

The talent is there, no more excuses. First year HCs win and make the playoffs all the time, we shouldn't be any different and allowing players, coaches or the front office to use that as an excuse shouldn't be acceptable.

That's fine. What else is he supposed to say? I will not do that. "Win now" is a mentality that doesn't help you build a team. "Win now" doesn't build a dynasty. Win now is what we have dealt with for the past 10 years.

Edit: I may be a little off topic. When I hear win now... I think pick ups / draft / etc.

Listen, I believe that we should win. I think our team SHOULD make playoffs. I think we should win. However... if we still have a positive season and we don't make playoffs... it would not hurt me this year. If we end 6-10... or worse... then yes, there would be obv. problems. I would be scared. But still... if we have a 9-7 or a 10-6 and don't seem to make playoffs (We do have Bears / Packers in division) I would not be upset.

We haven't been in "Win now" state for a decade, it has only been like 2-3 years. Prior to that we haven't had the team to actually win.

This is the year. Forget all of the additions losses coach staff etc. We are going to win the division and go to the playoffs, probably the super bowl.
