Three more nights away! Hitting the home stretch and the Texans can't afford to make the wrong decision.
The last thing we need is another four or five years of mediocrity. GM Rick Smith will be fired if we blow this.

Jadeveon Clowney is one of the best players to come along in the draft in quite some time and to my dismay the Texans are trying to trade the pick up until they are on the clock. Any other competent and successful franchise would have already announced that Clowney will be the number one selection. No team with a smart front office is looking to trade away a once-and-a-lifetime talent. They wouldn't need to throw out so many smokescreens and play a tough poker face all the way until Thursday Night.

And if the Texans end up drafting Jadeveon Clowney they're going to look a little foolish, mainly general manager Rick Smith, for overplaying the entire situation for weeks and months. It shouldn't be this complicated. This is why the Texans have two measly wild-card wins in twelve years as a franchise. They don't have the balls to just say, "we're going to draft this player because he's the best."

Teams who draft purely on need or even personnel fit (fitting a certain scheme) instead of the best player available end up shooting themselves in the foot more times than not. My goodness gracious. Thursday Night is either going to turn out to be really exciting or really frustrating. I've seen the Texans waste many first-round picks in the past, starting with the selection of David Carr over Julius Peppers with the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, so I'm just bracing myself and hoping for the best.

You would think Texans owner Bob McNair would just step up and not tolerate anymore mediocrity as a franchise. Ultimately it's his team.

Houston has a unique insight into South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney. Texans new strength and conditioning coach, Craig Fitzgerald, was South Carolina’s strength and conditioning coach from 2009-2011. The father of Houston’s new quality control coach Will Lawing, Brad Lawing, was Clowney’s defensive line coach at South Carolina. If any team has all the information it needs on Clowney, it’s Houston.

If the Texans don't draft Jadeveon Clowney number one overall I'm going to be stunned and shocked beyond words.

Johnny Football would be a nice feel good story if he succeeds but he's not going to help J.J. Watt shed double teams inside the trenches.

one guy on D wont help an offence that averaged 12.1 points

nor will he have enough impact to keep opponants to less than 10

We had no reliable running game last year. Arian Foster missed most of the season and Ben Tate played with broken ribs. We can draft a quarterback in the second or third round that goes on to have a better pro career than Johnny Manziel, IMO.

its fans like you who are so conservative that this franchise cant succeed

Johnny is the last chance they have, if they keep drafting minor impact position players as top picks instead of a face of the franchise, dont know if we will ever reach playoffs again

Johnny Manziel's durability concerns me. He has such a small body. I'm more worried he'll become an injury-prone quarterback three or four years from now. He may be exciting to watch his first few years in the NFL. Once defenses adapt to his style of play it's going to be tough if he doesn't become a good pocket passer. We already have a poor man's Johnny Manziel on our roster in Case Keenum. He's the same type of quarterback just far less athletic. What we need is a legitimate franchise quarterback who can last seven, eight, nine, ten-plus years in the league. I doubt that's Johnny Football.

Comparing Case to Johnny? What? are you delusional?

Durability is an issue for EVERY NFL PLAYER ever

JOHNNY came back after an injury to throw for the win,
