Id like to trade for cousins and give him a shot and draft Oline/Secondary

I live in the washington area. He sucks. No thanks was overhyped a lot. literally on the same level as ponder

I really don't want manziel. I just see too much of a train wreck with him.

I still like teddy, I wouldn't be upset with johnny but I don't like Bortles much at all. I hope he is selected before us because something tells me Norv will like his big frame.

It would just be classic vikings to draft the 'prototypical' QB (Bortles) that is raw with big upside just to have him fucking fail miserably.

I can't help that i love manziel. Yes he has a long way to go to translate his skills. but his intangibles and the passion for the game, i can't help but fall in love with that. It's great to have a player that isnt afraid to swag, and backs it up as well. I think if you look at the jump he made freshman to sophomore year in terms of QB skills, and then the jump from end of season to pro day (yes i know pro days are scripted etc) i think that behind all his celebrity and fame is a hardworker who wants it badly and knows how to get it done. I was really impressed with his interview after the pro day too. Said all the right things and seemed to genuinely mean them- not just say it for show.

We LOVE black athletic QBs though so i wouldnt be surprised if Bridgewater was #1 on our QB board.

As for Mosley, i just love Bama D and smashmouth defenders so im a little biased with him, but i think he will be a solid pro.

Just wrote my essay of what I feel would be an A+ draft for the vikings realistically and How I feel it could play out, Ill post it again here see what you guys think about this

I assume Matt Cassel will regrettably be our starting QB for at least most of the season which is why I am not expecting a great year I see it as a year where we observe good progression with our young stars. Teddy will learn with a great QB coach in Norv, and Teddy has a buttload of talent around him to be able to succeed with AP, Jennings, Patterson, and Rudolph. Now I know I am setting myself up because chances are still high the vikings don't draft teddy, that's just the QB I'd most likely want to see us draft.

In a perfect world I would love the vikings to trade back with either the cowboys/jets/dolphins pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd for their first. Use that pick for either CJ Mosley, Darqeze Dennard, or see if Anthony Barr falls that low (doubt it), dont take a safety because HaHa isn't a SS which is what we need. THEN With all the ammo we picked up from moving back trade a 2nd, one of our 3rds, and a 4th to trade back into the early 20s before the browns and take teddy

So my mock for the vikings draft would look like: trading back pickign up an extra 2nd round and 3rd round from one of those teams
Trading back into 1st: All three teams i listed have players they can select in later rounds (Nix - chargers, Roby - cincy, any gaurd for the chiefs) while trading our 2nd, one of our 3 3rd round picks, and a 4th. (Rick Speilmen has been known to try to trade back into the ffirst round he's done it the past 2 years.
pick (16,18 or 19): CJ Mosley / dennard
Pick (23, 24 or 25): Teddy Bridgewater

2nd round
traded away our pick 40 but gained a 2nd from boys', dolphins or jets
Pick (47,49,50) Deone Buccanon SS

3rd round
we had 2 3rd round picks to start but traded ours away (pick 72) to move back in the 1st

Pick(78,80, or 81): Bishop Sankey RB
Pick (96): Gabe Jackson Guard

4th round traded away

so overall summary

1st round picks:

CJ Mosley MLB
Teddy QB

2nd:
Deone Buccanon SS

3rd

Bishop Sankey RB
Gabe Jackson OG

Vikings talking with rams about trade for Bradford.

I'd be okay with this as the article I read said Bradford has received all his guaranteed money. and as long as we aren't giving up good picks for him. (no picks in the top 3 rounds)

Just saw this too. It's probably going to cost a third rounder which I think would work out well for both. Rams take whatever QB they want at 2, you guys still have your first, second and a third, you can avoid the QB prospects and address the defense.

Honestly, that trade makes a lot of sense to me and works out very well for both sides imo.

i didnt know much about sankey and started to like him after seeing some of that ESPN draft day thing. But scouts say he isnt good at pass protection- which is a problem considering we like to rest AP on passing plays/3rd downs. so we couldnt then plug him in to pass protect unless he really improved. He's also kind of undersized but i guess that doesnt matter as much since he isnt gonna be a workhorse or anyting. Most mocks ive seen have bar going mid to late 20s- he has slipped BIG TIME so drafting him in the teens if we trade back is kind of a stretch.

I want manziel. I just believe in that dude and he is such a competitor. he improved in his only offseason and i think behind all the 'swag' and celebrity is a smart guy who works his ass off. Especially with norv turner teaching him i think he would really become a good QB.

for the bradford trade. I hate it. Unless we give up basically nothing i dont want bradford at all.

In a press conference today Rick basically said he would not trade ponder or listen to offers. When pressed on why his reason was "because then we would have 1 qb on roster, and we need 3"

Spielman's fascination with ponder still confuses me to no end.

he's unwilling to give up because that would be like admitting it was a retarded pick- even though it was. sometimes your ego gets in the way of being smart. i fucking hate ponder, he sucks so fucking badly, has helped ruin APs prime in terms of team accomplishments and gets to nail a hot wife and has millions $$. life aint fair
