do you really, HONESTLY believe Clowney would make it past us at #3? lmao....

No, and if he makes it past #1 I don't see how he makes it past #2 after the Rams trade.

21. Green Bay (8-7-1) – Do not draft a tight end. I’ve seen Ebron and ASJ to the Packers in the first quite a bit. While I do like the picks, it isn’t the best the Packers can do (plus ASJ could possibly be avai in the second anyway). There’s actually quite a bit of TE talent in this draft but once the top 5ish guys are gone, the talent is all but gone so they do need to snag one in the second or third but not here. Get that safety that they so desperately need or ILB if Pryor and HaHa are gone, and worry about TE later.

Completely agree.

I don't see Dix dropping to us (inb4rodgers jokes) but would be perfectly happy getting Pryor.

Agreed. I don't see him being on the board at #3, no way. If by some chance in blue hell he is there at #3, we run and turn in that pick before they can even announce its our pick.

EDIT: If by some weird chance, we do trade up with the Rams to insure us Clowney (if he falls of course), I wouldn't be shocked. Caldwell is very good friends with Les Snead (GM of the Rams), I could see a deal being worked out. Of course that would depend on the supply and demand of the #2 pick.

Caldwell has stated he would be open to trading up and down in this draft. He even indicated working out a trade between Division rivals, depending on if the trade benefited us of course. I don't see anyhow the Texans would make a trade with us unless it robbed us blind, but that's just the rumbling going on right now.

Did I miss pick #33? To me that's just as important as what the Texans do at #1

Yeah, if Watkins and Clowney are gone I think Oakland's gotta look for a trade.  Robinson and Matthews are great talents, and you can never have too much OL, but there are WRs out there that could fill a bigger need...there are DTs, there are CBs, there are QBs.  Depth in this draft really helps us out.  Ideally if we trade back we get Cooks.

Wouldn't be mad about Robinson/Matthews pick at #5 but would be a wasted opportunity.  None of the QBs really speak to me at #5, and since it's VERY likely that one of the big names will be available in the 2nd round, just wait.  Just wait.

Just looked at the perfect draft you linked and...no.  We had better not take Evans at #5.  We need a big play WR that can stretch the field...we have possession guys with decent hands.  Need something to give our offense a spark when we're struggling, and while Evans is the kind of guy that can reliably bring in 1st down catches, that's not what our team is missing.

We do get WR, DT, CB, QB and those are our need positions, but...no.  Not Evans first.

Finally, how do you feel about Ebron to NYG?

Giants won't waste their first on Ebron. They'll go LT or DL. The Giants are usually about the safe smart pick rather than the big splash that everyone is excited for but doesn't really improve the team. That doesn't mean Ebron isn't an improvment but does he really make the Giants any better?

As for the Raiders I'll just say, when I'm doing the live mock, assuming the top 4 players drafted go roughly as expected (Watkins, Clowney, Mack, Manziel), then I will def be plugging Mike Evans in for the Raiders.

This.

If he makes it to 2 the pick will be traded. Hell 1 might even be traded

I think giving Eli another Shockey-like target could be huge for the Giants, especially with a new scheme coming in to town. Having a strong TE as a crutch when learning a new system is always a big plus, especially when Eli's chemistry with his WR core is in question after last season--they were definitely not on the same page. Manningham is a good replacement for Nicks so I'm not as worried there, but still, giving Eli more options is never a bad thing. He's been good at getting everyone included in the offense.

OL could be huge, too--Eli definitely went down a lot, and the Eagles can bring the heat. But the Cowboys lost Ware, and the Redskins have..? I don't see OL being as big a need in that division this season as others may think it is, and with the depth in this draft, they could easily find OL in the 2nd or 3rd round. DT is a possibility, with Donald being the consensus best DT in the draft.

And I severely hope you are wrong about the Raiders and Evans. He does not fill a big need for us right now. Yes, we need WR--but we need a big-play WR. The guys we have right now can catch and can fight for the ball, especially Rob Streater and Andre Holmes. While Evans would be better at it than who we have, and would certainly improve our team, he doesn't complete our team. I would actually prefer taking Cooks at 5 over Evans at 5, just because a deep threat is SUCH a need on the team right now. Not even Al Davising this pick.

But you're right. If Clowney, Mack, and Watkins are off the board we need to get out of that spot. Robinson is nice but isn't a big need right now. Any non-QB player is a stretch, and even most QBs are a stretch at that pick, given how much interest there has been in the QBs (little to none).
