The Eagles give Riley Cooper a slap on the wrist for clearly and blatantly being a racist, and cut DeSean Jackson on mere allegations and "ties" to hanging with the wrong crowd.
May just be my opinion, but there is something wrong about this situation to me. If the Eagles really are about character and etc, then explain to me why they kept Riley Cooper. It seems to me like they just didn't want to pay Jackson. And no doubt, he was probably a problem for the coaches, but still. Dude's an elite talent.
Wrong. They did not cut D.Jax on "mere allegations of ties to hanging with the wrong crowd"
Did you read this article at all? It had to do with a lengthy history of locker room troubles, yelling at Chip in front of other players, attitude problems, being selfish, etc.
"gang ties" was not THE reason why. I think we've known that from the start. It's a history of things, notice how nobody on the team stood up for him?
And the difference between Cooper and D.Jax is that when Cooper fucked up, he apologized and paid his dues and they told him to fix it and he did and he has been a model citizen since. When was the last time you've heard ANYTHING about Riley Cooper since then? Everyone on the team loves him now, he's been a great guy and a very good locker room presence. D.Jax on the other hand, when he fucked up years ago he was told to fix it and continued to act the way he does. He continued to tweet pictures that his GM told him to chill out with, he continued to act out in the locker room in ways that the coaches did not agree with....
Cooper fixed his problem, and learned from it. D.Jax has shown no remorse, and never learned from anything.
