Should probably calm down. Clowney looks great and is a helluva of a talent. But nothing is a sure thing. People need to settle down.

Sure he's a good bet for the #1 overall pick and will go top 5 100% but let's not get out of hand here and think he's going to become the next and greatest thing as a pass rusher.

To be fair, he has more potential than anyone in at least a decade to become to next and greatest thing as a pass rusher.

Obviously, crowning him the king already would be stupid, but there's nothing wrong with getting excited about an incredible player entering the league.

Free agency starts on March 11 so that's coming up pretty fast. Maybe the Texans can make one or two decent moves with limited cap space. Try to solve some needs before the draft. At the very least I want to know if they're going to re-sign Antonio Smith. If not then we're going to have a huge hole at defensive right end playing a 3-4 defense under Romeo Crennel.

The bottom line is Jadeveon Clowney is such a freakish athlete you can plug him in anywhere. I'm not too worried about schemes or if he can play defensive end or outside linebacker in a 3-4. Give me the best player available and I'll allow the coaches to find a way to properly use him so the team can become successful. That is why they get paid the big bucks.

A lot of people are too naive and short sighted. They'll just say that Jadeveon Clowney is a defensive end in a 4-3 defense so there is no way he can play in a 3-4 defense. I don't think that's true at all. He may be a better fit as a defensive end in a 4-3 but to say a guy that is 6'6, 270 pounds and can run faster than a lot of tight ends, wide receivers and running backs, can't play outside linebacker is absurd. You can definitely rush the passer and make a lot of tackles as an outside linebacker or defensive end. In a 4-3 or 3-4 defense.

Like Bill O'Brien said when he took over the head coaching job for the Texans.

"3-4 or 4-3 base defense is overrated. A lot of teams play nickel and dime a majority of the time in today's NFL."

And also, if you look at Romeo Crennel's past as a defensive coordinator. He has played both the 4-3 and 3-4. He could easily adapt if needed. It's the personnel on the team that he will take advantage of properly. That is what he did during his days with the Patriots. People act like he wouldn't put the players in position to give the team the best chance to win. If he has J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Brian Cushing he's going to make sure they are in a position to succeed.
