Okay so looking at the current roster before any changes are made with the upcoming free agency period.
Sorted by depth chart at the end of the 2010 season.
Running backs:Beanie Wells was a disappointment. He was hurt a lot and kept getting stuffed on the run.
116 carries
397 yards
2 TDs
Tim Hightower was our best back for sure but we stopped running the football and went with passing plays. He also fumbled several footballs
153 carries
736 yards
5 TDs
5 fumbles (4 of which were lost)
LaRod Stephens-Howling - This kid is a good football player that just wasn't blessed by mother nature with a bigger body. He tied with the top spot for most kick-off return TDs.
23 attempts
113 yards
1 TD
Jason Wright announced his retirement a short time ago. He was a decent special teamer.
6 attempts
28 yards
The running back position is looking pretty bad as well. I'm glad the front office went with a running back in the 2nd round. I'm liking this Ryan Williams kid. He has a lot of upside.
Quarterbacks:John Skelton
Richard Bartel
Derek Anderson
Max Hall
I just shake my head. I want
John Skelton to be a future star. The fact is that the odds are WAY against it. The backup QB is always the most popular guy in town when the starter stinks. Anyone who's been following Cardinals longer than 5 years should see a very clear trend.
John Navarre
Brian St Pierre
Tyler Palko
Max Hall
And now John Skelton.
There's always the "feel good" story of a backup coming in and performing well. Hell, last year Max Hall was our savior until people actually saw him play for 4 full quarters. No fans outside of Cardinals fans think that Skelton is a legit starter....and I like the guy.

That's fine.Max Hall - Okay moving on. This kid shouldn't have made it into the league. He got lucky plain and simple against the Saints.

Richard Bartel was brought in from the UFL because by week 16, the Cardinals ran out of quarterbacks. Max Hall and Derek Anderson out with injury and John Skelton was the only healthy quarterback. He did play some snaps at the end of the year too.

The quarterback situation is looking very grim. We need a veteran quarterback that can manage a hybrid west coast offense. Whoever it is will also need to learn the offensive system pretty quickly as well. It was proven with Derek Anderson that we can't put just any quarterback with a strong arm under center and still win games.
