It's always tough playing the NFC East. I'd like to see them beat the Redskins at home and end their 14-game losing streak.

LOL, watch them beat Matt Schaub on the road Week 2

We don't know that yet. If our defense is good and we can generate a strong pass rush and force turnover we'll be competitive.

The Houston Texans renamed Reliant Stadium to NRG Stadium about a month ago.
It's going to take me a while to adapt to that change. Reliant Stadium is no more...

Reliant Stadium has been there since day one (2002 to 2014). I'll miss the name.
NRG Energy is such a rapidly growing company. I always see positive gains in the stock market.

Anyways, I think the Texans can go 10-6 in 2014 but a lot is riding on this draft along with a healthy Arian Foster and Brian Cushing.

EDIT: On my post above I meant force "turnovers" as in plural form and multiple. Our defense forced an NFL worst 11 turnovers in 2013 last year which is beyond horrendous in a 16-game season. I guess I'm used to seeing less than one turnover forced per game by the Texans defense. Easy typo on my part. Winning the weekly turnover battle will go a long way towards improving upon that 2-14 record.

I forgot to post this a couple nights ago.

Here's a link to the full Texans 2014 schedule on ESPN.com. It also includes the exact dates and time for the four preseason games.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/hou/houston-texans

We are fortunate to have two nationally televised games on primetime TV after going 2-14 last season.

One of them is a Thursday Night game at home against the Colts on October 9. That's going to air on CBS. Don't forget that CBS will air eight Thursday Night games in 2014 as part of an agreement with the NFL Network. Also a Monday Night game at Pittsburgh on October 20 (ESPN).

What the heck happened to former Texans star running back Steve Slaton?

I heard he signed with a CFL team, the Toronto Argonauts.

In 2008 as a rookie with the Houston Texans he had 1,282 rushing yards with 13 total TDs (9 rushing TDs).
He was very much on par with any rookie running back from that draft class, aka Chris Johnson and Matt Forte.

It's a shame that Steve "Super Six" Slaton fell off the football world after 2009. His career was a bit of a fluke I guess. One good year as a rookie and that was it. If he were any good he'd at least still be a decent backup in the NFL. I wouldn't mind the Texans signing him to the league minimum if he had any good legs left, but I guess he's done when the CFL is the best he can do these days.

I have to watch old youtube highlights from his 2008 rookie season just to make sure he was as good as he was.
