we had a very opportunistic team and the defense was much more stable/balanced than it has been in recent years when we won the SB tho. i honestly have no idea what to expect now... quite content with the draft and getting healthy is better than signing any FAs imo

the stats were solid.... but the D's ability to close out games in the playoffs when it mattered is what will resonate with me forever. so fucking clutch.

Yeah, that's why what has worried me most this offseason isn't the front 7, but the secondary. Losing Woodson and hearing that Tramontana still has some nerve damage in the shoulder is not what I want to look forward to. At least we have Hayward.

we've discussed this before and i still believe that considering how well they performed with the inconsistent pass rush from the rest of the D, this year should only be an improvement. but, like you said, i still yearn for the closing-out capabilities that the SB squad had
