I think Anthony Barr makes sense at 10. He is freakishly athletic and would be an awesome edge rusher opposite ziggy in certain packages while playing OLB in our base defense

Who is someone that is frequently mocked to us that you absolutely DONT want?

I try not to get my hopes up and try to avoid mocks. Too many times recently have I really liked a guy and he gets picked ahead of us or we pass and we get someone who is a bust.

Any OT and S, kills me when I see them mocked to us

I don't mind Evans but I don't think he's gonna make it to us anyway
I don't mind dennard or Gilbert but I would still prefer Barr or Mack >>>>

if he can stay healthy I do, I forgot to use him in my WR debate with shroom lol but I think with the addition of Tate, keeping pettigrew will open some lanes for broyles..

Now that I rememver Broyles as well I would like us to go defense....Mack or Barr seems solid.

I still wouldn't mind Evans though ;)

He supposedly has a "Clean slate" (as does Mikel Leshoure) going into this year. They def. are not the players we drafted them as, even when healthy. Broyles has supposedly lost a step (if not more). I like the dude, I hope he can come back, but I'm pretty doubtful of it.

He is a bust in my mind just not as bad as titus. He just cant play because he is always hurt and now he lost a step? That was his big thing was how fast he was I thought. Leshoure wasted all his motivation on weed and cheetos, bell and bush with riddick is all we need in the backfield imo.

Lions targeting a 'flamethrower'?

Among the changes we'll see from the Detroit Lions during the 2014 campaign will be a new-look defense.

"The Lions will continue to run a 4-3 defense under [Jim] Caldwell and new aggressive defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, but there will be some new wrinkles in the system and the addition of a pass-rusher at linebacker seems like an inevitability," wrote Kyle Meinke of MLive.com. "But they don't have an obvious internal candidate for the position."

Caldwell said he'd like to find a "flamethrower" who can get after the quarterback. Ezekiel Ansah may be able to help in that regard on the D-line.

"He played the run quite well, but surprisingly wasn't much of a factor rushing the passer during his rookie season. But anyone can see Ansah's immense ability. If he is to develop into a true building block of Detroit's franchise, he needs to keep working on his pass-rushing repertoire," wrote ESPN NFL Insider Matt Williamson.

To secure an impact pass-rusher at linebacker, though, the Lions may need to use the No. 10 pick in the draft on someone like UCLA's Anthony Barr, though ESPN NFL Insider Todd McShay sees a lot of risk in taking him that high:

Todd McShay
Which prospect from these groups is the biggest risk?

"Anthony Barr of UCLA is a speed-rusher who stalls out when attempting to convert speed to power, and there is too much finesse to his game for me to pay a top-15 price for him. He looks like he's on skates when he attempts to set the edge."

He easily could be. He was really coming on during that Texans game before tearing his ACL. You realize he has the most receptions EVER for NCAA football? I wouldn't place all my hope in him but to say that he is useless is silly. Fingers crossed that he had a good recovery and is able to stay healthy this year
