Schaub to Raiders. Glad we got something for him instead of cutting him and getting nothing. We saved $4M, have about $10M in our cap space, and don't have to pay Schaub in 2014 or 2015.
Wonder who O'Brien will pick from Keenum or Yates. Fitzpatrick will be our backup or starter, and we're definitely drafting a QB this year, so we can't keep both of them. Personally, I'd go with Yates.
You can say goodbye to T.J. Yates because Bill O'Brien loves Case Keenum and sees him as a big part of the team moving forward. Yates will either be traded or released. I'm hoping we can snag a late-round draft pick for Yates before the draft. I'd take a seventh-round pick for him and I'll be happy with a sixth-round pick. He was probably worth a fifth-round pick at this time last year but his value has definitely dropped because he was horrible when he played last season. He was just as bad as Schaub was. T.J. Yates does have one career playoff win (1-1 in the playoffs) just like Schaub so he's played in a couple big games before.

Johnny Manziel drew a big applause when they showed him on the jumbotron at the Rockets game last night. He was sitting court side next to Arian Foster. I doubt it means much but this guy is pretty much a God already in the city of Houston because it's close enough to College Station. I know that Bill O'Brien really likes Blake Bortles and there's already a strong connection there.
I'm starting to warm up to the idea of drafting a quarterback with the first overall pick but I don't think it's going to be Teddy Bridgewater. I'm still not sold on Bortles and I feel like Johnny Football would become an instant spark of excitement that this franchise desperately needs at the quarterback position. The safest pick would be Jadeveon Clowney. Also Merril Hoge on NFL Live yesterday said that the Texans should select Khalil Mack number one overall. He believes Mack is 100 miles ahead of everybody else and easily the best player in the entire draft.
I just want to brace myself for another month of speculation. I wish it was Thursday Night, May 8 right now. Jimmy Garoppolo from Eastern Illinois is every bit as special as any QB in this draft class. I'd love to draft him with pick #33 but he may be off the board before the start of the second round.
