Probably some nerves for Teddy Bridgewater's pro day. At least he looked sharp in the red zone and end zone passes.

Scroll down to see the videos of some of his throws today.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Teddy Bridgewater declined to throw and run at the NFL scouting combine, opting to showcase his skills to league personnel in a controlled environment during Louisville’s pro day.

The decision may have backfired for Bridgewater. The potential No. 1 overall pick of the 2014 draft was less accurate than expected, several of his throws were clearly off target and his ball often fluttered on short- and long-yardage attempts, despite throwing indoors.

The 6-foot-2 Bridgewater, who weighed 208 pounds and ran an unofficial 4.78 in the 40-yard dash, threw without a glove as Texans general manager Rick Smith and coach Bill O’Brien watched nearby Monday on Louisville’s campus.

The Cardinals junior quarterback started sharp, showcasing his high, quick release. But he overthrew receivers on the left and right sidelines, underthrew a left out and badly missed on a deep ball down the middle of the field. Bridgewater regained his touch during a brief second session, which occurred near the end zone, focusing on quick slants and fades. But more than 10 of his 65 overall passes were either misses or drops.

“Me being a perfectionist, it was nowhere near where I wanted it to be,” said Bridgewater, who expects to meet soon with the Texans. “It’s a learning process. I was able to take away something from those throws and just tell myself that, ‘Hey, keep hitting the guy in the left shoulder.’ Or, ‘Keep hitting the guy in stride.’ But, overall, I just felt I had a great day.”

draino, do you still think the Texans will draft Teddy Bridgewater number one overall? I doubt his poor pro day workout yesterday will have very much impact on their decision. Bill O'Brien and Rick Smith will be watching Blake Bortles' pro day workout tomorrow. And then Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney, last but not least, are still to come. I'm already worn out trying to speculate and guess which players the Texans will draft. I'm just going to patiently wait for Thursday Night, May 8.

Don't think so. I saw his video, it wasn't too bad. Just a couple of overthrown passes, and he did have some ugly passes in the beginning, but I think he was getting used to throwing w/o the gloves.

Texans just had a private practice with him this morning, and they're gonna host one for Bortles as well.

ESPN Sportscenter just showed Bill O'Brien live at Blake Bortles' workout. He's about to throw soon and Linda Cohn said Sportscenter will show it once he starts throwing. I thought Blake Bortles' pro day workout was going to be closed to the media? At least that is what John McClain mentioned in the Houston chronicle the other day. I don't like the way O'Brien was jumping up and down like he was excited and chatting up a storm. If Houston drafts Blake Bortles number one overall we're going to be a bad football team for a long time.

Blake Bortles is throwing right now on ESPN Sportscenter. Seven teams, including the Texans, are watching him closely. Jaws is saying he's been razor sharp and very impressive in all of the drills. I've never seen a quarterback hyped up so much in so little time. I like his size and strong arm so I'm not totally against him but I have my doubts about him. Bill O'Brien knows him well and the Texans new quarterbacks coach, George Godsey, helped recruit Bortles to Central Florida so there's obviously a strong connection there.

LOL, the Texans and Jaguars coaching staff and GMs are right there talking to each other.
They all look very impressed. Bortles is acing his pro day workout. Perfect passes on every throw.

Wow. If you can sell me on the idea that Blake Bortles can play on Sunday like he's throwing the football right now. I'd be sold on him. Only one drop and it was the fault of the wide receiver. Blake Bortles threw a perfect bullet pass like a lazer. Excellent accuracy, amazing strength. Beautiful tight spirals. Very Dan Marino esque. He looked upset that a ball hit the ground even once.

I'll eat crow for today at least. Blake Bortles was very impressive. He looked sensational today. I watched Teddy Bridgewater's pro day and felt incredibly disappointed which was the total opposite. The pro days of Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney are still to come but so far Blake Bortles helped his draft stock tremendously.

I still say we go for the top talent in Clowney! Let's grab a QB in the later rounds. The rebuilding of the Texans is going to take a while. At least it seemed that way based on this year's free agency for us. QB is our most pressing need, but I don't see why we should rush ourselves into reaching for a guy just because he's a QB. Good organizations build for the long run. I like the Texans' front office. They are among the most patient in the NFL and give everything good time. Lots of the perennially bad teams are the ones that rush into decisions and try to win as fast as they can (Browns, Raiders).
