Just move ahead to 1:04 when they start talking about the Texans. They talk about all of the AFC South teams.

Smokescreen. Trying to get people to think we're drafting Clowney so we can get offers.

I'm okay if they sign a veteran quarterback in free agency which starts on Tuesday and then they draft a guy like Jimmy Garoppolo at pick #33

Confirming @RapSheet report: @Vikings have agreed to terms with QB Matt Cassel on new contract. Source tells @FOXSports1 it's 2-year deal

Looks like Matt Cassel re-signed with the Vikings. The Jaguars re-signed Chad Henne to a two-year deal also. Free agency for quarterbacks is even slimmer. The Texans inquired about backups Brock Osweiler and Ryan Mallet. I'm not sure about those guys. I'd rather have somebody with more experience.

Waiting to hear about the Matt Schaub release but I think it has to be done after June 1 to save more money.

I think it's pretty sad that the Texans have to nickel and dime their way around the current salary cap. Not only was Owen Daniels released but it wouldn't shock me if other high-priced veterans like Johnathan Joseph and Danieal Manning are next to be let go. The Texans really have no choice if they want to have good cap space by 2016 when J.J. Watt warrants the highest-paid contract for a defensive player.

All because Rick Smith foolishly overpaid for Matt Schaub, Arian Foster and Brian Cushing during the past few off-seasons. Hindsight is 20-20 and nobody knew Foster and Cushing would become injury-prone but the big multi-year contract he gave Schaub wasn't warranted at the time. He still had one year left and they could have smartly re-evaluated his status as he became a free agent last off-season.

Even after a 12-4 season people had doubts about Matt Schaub being "that guy" to lead the Texans to a Super Bowl after his poor play down the stretch. His 1-3 finish to the 2012 season after the 11-1 start and his playoff games against the Bengals and Patriots. I don't think people should be surprised with his huge drop off in 2013 especially when he had no consistent running game to rely on.

The thing that sucks is we can't release Matt Schaub until after June 1. If the Texans designate Schaub as a post-June 1 cut, the cap charge in 2014 would be $3.5 million in dead money. In 2015, $7 million in dead money would apply. The Texans also would avoid paying Schaub $10 million in base salary and $1 million in roster bonus next season ($11 million total in 2014) by cutting him. In 2016 the Texans will clear the full portion of that $10 million in dead money and have good cap space again.

TL:DR version: So pretty much if we start releasing some players right now and after June 1 in Schaub's case, they'll be completely off the books two years from now. So maybe if we try and rebuild a little bit with fresh young talent we can become a strong contender again in 2016 and make a splash in free agency at that time. This upcoming draft is very important to re-fuel the roster with some good young players.

The NFL Network was discussing the possibility of the Texans signing DeMarcus Ware to go along with J.J. Watt and still drafting Jadeveon Clowney. LOL, one of the guys said that's too much. It's probably overkill anyways. I doubt we can clear enough cap space to sign Ware. He'd be a good fit for Tampa Bay.

draino, the way free agency is going for the Texans so far - losing players and creating even more holes all over the place - we may as well embrace ourselves for the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft as well. Do you like Jameis Winston at all? The way our roster currently looks like, I don't see us going any better than 2-14 again in 2014. We're going to draft first overall for a couple of years in a row. If we can draft well maybe by 2016 or 2017 we'll become one of the more exciting teams in the league.

We may as well try and find ourselves a big nose tackle in this draft so it doesn't become a prolonging weakness year in and year out, along with a tight end, defensive end, outside linebacker and running back. We may as well bite the bullet with the quarterback situation. We're going to suck regardless of who we bring in at this point.

This is unbelievable how the Texans are just stripping away any good players they had. Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham aren't coming back. That's our top two tight ends. I doubt Antonio Smith will be re-signed. Ben Tate is gone. We lost our best special teams gunner in Bryan Braman. We may as well release or try and trade Johnathan Joseph and Danieal Manning. I wouldn't be shocked if Andre Johnson demands a trade this off-season. Maybe his uncle and agent will push him in that direction.

This is just a total rebuilding job for the Texans. I no longer feel optimistic about a quick fix or an easy turnaround.
Our goal right now should be clearing cap space and eating that dead money. By 2016 we'll be in good shape.

NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders discusses being the first to interview players on draft day, how a players' whole life changes with one phone call, and says J.J. Watt would be the perfect mentor for Jadeveon Clowney.
