New York Giants 2013 Regular Season Schedule:

Home: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks

Away: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Carolina Panthers

That's one of the easiest schedules we've had in yearss. I love it.

Q: How is your first week at the facility?

A: It’s been great getting to know some of the guys and some of the people around the facility. It’s been good.

Q: What did you like about the Giants that brought you here?

A: Just the way that they use the tight ends. They have been very successful with that position the last few years and having an established quarterback and an organization that expects to win and that wins a lot of ball games. That was definitely a major point in coming.

Q: How much interaction have you had with Eli?

A: It’s only been four days, but we’ve all thrown the ball a little bit and have been trying to get to know each other and run some routes.

Q: How have you found the talk of trying to be the first team to host and play in the same Super Bowl?

A: I came here to win some football games and to make the playoffs. I’ve never been in the playoffs. That excites me to be around guys who expect to win and fans that expect to win. So I’m excited.

Q: Is this different than your experience in Oakland?

A: It’s definitely different. It’s a different situation. They haven’t won in a while and I think once you don’t win in a while you kind of lose that mentality.

Q: How has Kevin Boss helped you?

A: Kevin was a great guy, great teammate and a good friend in Oakland. He had nothing but good things to say about the organization, the guys on the team, the coaches and he still helps me if I have a question about where to live or something like that. He’s still right there helping me. He’s been great and him and his wife have helped my fiancé and I out a lot, so I’m very thankful for that.

Q: Does it seem like you never left?

A: It seems like I never left. The guys are treating me just like I never left. Everything just seems great. My jersey is still the same one that I had. Everything is great.

Q: When you are away from the team for a year and you come, does it give you a different perspective of the organization?

A: I think so. I missed the guys, I missed the coaches, I missed the organization and it seems like everybody else missed me just as well so it seems like a mutual thing. It brings a smile to my face when I came in knowing that it wasn’t just me that was missing the Giants. It was vice-versa.

Q: What type of role will you play for the Giants this year?

A: Hopefully being a vet I can just bring leadership and talk to the younger guys letting them know that we just have to keep working and execute our plays. Just the whole locker room atmosphere… I think a lot goes along with winning other than being on the field; just the camaraderie of the players on and off the field.

Q: Do you feel you still have a lot to give on the field?

A: Of course. I’m a player. I’m very competitive. I haven’t really talked to the coaches about what my role would be. I’m just excited to be back and whatever my role is going to be that’s what I’m going to do to the fullest.

Q: You went from a team that won the Super Bowl to a team that went 2-14. What was that like?

A: It was tough, but I really appreciate that organization. They gave me a second chance to stay in the league and play the game that I love. They allowed me to go to London and see my baby and they accepted me and her in Jacksonville with open arms. I don’t regret making the decision that I made, but I am happy to be home where I feel like I belong.

Q: Do you see yourself in a veteran leadership role?

A: I do. I feel like I’m already taking some of the younger guys under my wing and just teaching them the little things that they may not know like myself. R.W. and Sam did a great job with me and Corey and Terrell Thomas just taking us in and showing us the ropes.

G Chris Snee:

April 18, 2013

Q: How are you?

A: I’m good. I’ve been working out. I can’t do everything, but I’m doing enough where I’m sweating and just being in there with the guys is a good feeling and it all points to one goal. It’s exciting. The first day is like the first day of school. Everyone is excited to be here and we all have the same goal in mind.

Q: How optimistic are you in your recovery that you’ll be able to go this summer?

A: You know me. I’ll be out there. That’s not a concern with me. I’m just concerned with the overall body strength and health and at this point I feel really good. I’m very pleased with how the surgery went. I think Dr. (Bryan) Kelly did a great job and our medical staff here has done a great job with getting me through this one.

Q: What are your thoughts about what happened in Boston?

A: It’s just sad. It’s a shame that we have to worry about events like this happening on a day in Boston with such tradition and such meaning. I watched the Bruins game last night and almost came to tears with the pre-game ceremony. That city will rally and everyone will rally and unify.

Q: What’s it like coming to work every day in the shadow of where the Super Bowl is going to be played? Does that change your perspective at all?

A: No. We’re all aware of where it’s played. When we came in here on Monday or any Monday for the first day of the offseason program it’s always with that goal of playing in the Super Bowl. So this year just happens to be at MetLife and obviously we’re aware that no team has ever played in their home stadium, but that doesn’t change our goal at all. We’re an excited bunch here and we’ve had enthusiastic workouts so far. The goal is always in our mind.

Q: When you saw Cullen Jenkins, did you feel the urge to slam into each other?

A: They brought in Patterson, too, so I have two guys that I’ve had plenty of battles with. We’ve already talked about just the number of head to head matchups we’ve had over the years and it’s always good when we bring a defensive lineman from one of your rivals onto your squad. It was the same thing when Canty came over a few years ago. Anytime you can weaken your opponent and the other thing is now I have no one really to talk to. I like to have casual conversations during the games. Some of those young guys in Philadelphia might not want to talk to me.

Q: Do you feel like you’ve upgraded your defensive line with these two guys?

A: I think they’re a tremendous addition. I was in here getting treatment when Cullen was in here and when he walked up I remember saying to a few guys that I hope we sign him because he’s a big man who can rush the quarterback, explosive and then that allows you to keep other guys on the edge where they’re more comfortable. I think any time you add a big guy that can rush it’s just another guy that’s a part of that d-line rotation. It’s tough. We moan every training camp about the depth and how they just rotate guys in and out. Now they have two more. So maybe I’ll try to wait til the second or third week to come back.

Q: How is the knee and foot feeling?

A: My body is feeling good. I still have a lot of time to still monitor and take care of it, so that’s what I’m doing now getting back in the groove of things.

Q: Do you feel like you’re on schedule to progress with the next stage of the offseason conditioning program?

A: I’m looking at the bigger picture right now. My goal is to be full go by training camp. So this time that I have now I’m using to get myself back in football shape and football conditioning because it’s been a while. That’s all I’m doing right now.

Q: Was the surgery you had in the offseason a knee scope to clean some stuff out?

A: It was just a little minor procedure.

Q: Do you feel better having had that surgery?

A: Definitely. I benefited from it.

Q: When you say your goal is to be full go by training camp, what’s your level of confidence that you can be full go at that point?

A: My confidence is extremely high. I just look at it like when that time gets here then that’s when it will take place.

Q: When you watched last season’s game tape, was it hard to watch yourself on the field?

A: I knew what I was going through. Nobody knew what I was going though but me, but I felt like I came out better than the average person would in that position. So I feel like I was blessed to come out the way I did. It could have been worse. I fought through it. I did it for my team. It taught me some things. I learned a lot of things from myself. I just take it in stride and continue with my career.

Q: Do you think sometimes that maybe you shouldn’t have come back because you couldn’t be yourself?

A: You can look at that and say that now, but when you’re going through the situation it’s a lot harder especially when you’re competitive like the way I am. You just got to look back on it now and be glad that it’s over with and that what I do.

Q: When you’re healthy and playing at your highest potential, is there anything going forward with the foot or the knee that may prevent that?

A: No. I don’t think so. My foot has been fine for a while. I think my main issue last year was mainly the knee, but I think that’s fine now. We’re going to keep on taking things the way we are now and making sure there won’t be any setbacks.

Q: What did you gain with the session last week with Eli?

A: We do that once every offseason. That was actually my first time running routes with Eli. I’ve been running, but it was my first time running routes with Eli. I felt pretty good. There weren’t any setbacks with that. I would rather have been at Carolina than Duke, but it’s all good though.

Great interview... seems like an intellectual guy, gives a good interview. s=Said he wished he had started his career here... repeated exactly what everyone that comes from another team says, that they feel like this is home. They feel so comfortable with the environment, coaches to the front office.

Actually looking forward to see what he brings..

Our success next season hinges on the play of C-Web to be the C-Web of old.... talks about Tyrann Mathieu and a ton of other topics. Good interview.

Love this guy.... I can already tell we are going to love him. Great interview. Said he signed here mostly because he felt wanted, said it was hard to explain but it just felt right.
