Former Cowboys LB Dan Connor signed a one-year deal with Giants. @ProFootballTalk also reports Louis Murphy got 1 yr deal with Giants.

Love the Murphy signing... would of rather had Dansby... just hope Connor can stay healthy and play better in the 4-3 than he did in Dallas in the 3-4

Connor if healthy could get 100+ tackles easily, problem is he's never healthy... he's a 2 down run stuffing MLB, liability in coverage, upgrade from Chase just not a vast upgrade :(

Between Rivers and Connor, they miss a lot of games. Past two years Connor has missed 3 games, which isn't so so bad.

I like it for a depth signing but I think it was more than that.... I just wish we would take the LB position serious one of these years...........

Brandon Myers was always tops on the Giants' wish list to replace Martellus Bennett. They were just waiting out the initial frenzy

Not quite as good as Bennett, Bennet could stretch a defense and was an exceptional blocker but still a great pickup... interested on the details of the contract.

Really liking this off season thus far for a team that didn't have the cap to do much of anything, we sure have been productive.

I just hope it's not another 1 year deal... can't stand developing players only to lose them.

Bennett would of been so great here.

Hoping it's at least a 2-3 year deal but most likely 1 year...

So far this off season we have signed/resigned:

LT Will Beatty
TE Brandon Myers
WR Louis Murphy
RB Andre Brown
RB Ryan Torain
DT Cullen Jenkins
DT Shaun Rogers
DE Justin Trattou
DE Adrian Tracy
CB Aaron Ross
CB Terrell Thomas
LB Dan Connor
LB Keith Rivers
S Will Hill
S Stevie Brown
S Ryan Mundy (back of the rotation, camp fodder maybe)
K Josh Brown
K David Buehler

All of those with the exception of Mundy are great signings... and cheap.

So we signed a BOATLOAD of players for the veteran minimum this season... all 1 year deals obviously

Louis Murphy
Aaron Ross
Dan Connor
Keith Rivers
Ryan Mundy
Ryan Torain
Shaun Rogers
Justin Trattou
Adrian Tracy

•Additionally, players with 4 or more years of experience who sign basic bare-bones veteran contracts will only count $555,000 against the cap even though they make more than that ($715 K, $840 K, or $940 K).

This means we are still under the salary cap.

Cap maneuvering RT @JennyVrentas: Weird contract structure for new Giants TE Brandon Myers. Four-year contract but last 3 years are voidable

Myers will receive a $1.5M signing bonus, $725K base fully guaranteed + $25K workout bonus. #nyg

Jerry Reese is a GENUIS with this one....

Basically it could be a 4 year contract but the last 3 years are voidable. So if he doesn't really break out and improve how we expect under Pope, we can cut him. If he does break out and we want to keep him beyond this year it's set up that way as well. It's basically a "show me" contract.

Love it....

Will really have to break out for $4 million a year though.

Reese was on Sirius/MTC earlier (No Cruz info)

PK and TRock asked him who starts at left guard, his first response was "we can do some things in the draft", and then made a general comment like they can "play with some veterans on the roster".

Murphy: Jeremiah Davis (Exec. Scout) calls him a 'knife'. Really will take the top off defenses now, and be a big help to Nicks and (hopefully) Cruz.

Adrien Robinson: Expects him to use his 280lb frame as "the big TE". Didn't mention anything about getting downfield, but commented about some amazing things he flashed in practice last year. 280??

Myers: "QB Friendly", "Quiet 80 catches/going to be a big help in the pass game", "He's played a lot"...he said the latter to underscore the fact they haven't usually given Pope guys with a lot of experience to work with.

Beatty: Good young player on the rise and wanted to get that done before free agency started.

Wouldn't comment on Cruz contract situation because it was 'inappropriate', but praised VC as a person/player. Funny, they re-played his comments on the 2min update... zero-info on Victor beat out Jake Long signing with STL.

-Interesting to hear Robinson is freaking 280 lbs already........ holy.... JPP of TE's no kidding :o

-Interesting note about Murphy signing.. Who was that saying that Murphy wasn't going to see any time?

Exactly what I thought.
