I really thought Bennt would be our anchor TE for years.... developed him only to send him off :(

Could of been great here with Eli and Pope. Wish him well in Chicago.

I'd love Keller though. VERY underrated TE. Would flourish wish Eli.

Free-agent WR Louis Murphy is visiting the Giants today

Unpolished diamond in the rough?

He's got the size, blazing 4.32 SPEED, good blocking WR, young veteran... would be a very solid #4 for us

His hands aren't great to say the least and his route running needs work... but to sit behind Nicks, Cruz and Randle... I'd love it

Poor guy started his career with JaMarcus Russell... in Russell's worst season.

Kevin Boothe update:

Quote
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports free agent LG Kevin Boothe has been talking with the Giants, Panthers, Jets, and Cardinals.
The Giants' reportedly consider Boothe a priority, but they haven't made any moves to try and lock him up. At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, he can also play tackle, which makes sense for the Panthers. Carolina could use an upgrade on RT Byron Bell. The Cardinals need help all over the line, and the Jets could use another guard after signing Willie Colon on Friday.

Eli extension has to be looming on the horizon as a final play to resuscitate us.

Before the Andre Brown, Ross & Rivers signings our cap was only $1.5 million. We still have to sign Stevie Brown as well no?

The only way we are signing Cruz is if Eli gets an extension. We have no other moves left to make other than Diehl taking a pay cut or someone else being let go. Even with the patch work signings we are making we have zero room to do anything. We still have to find $4,614,587 to sign our draft picks as well.

It's in Eli's best interest and obviously the teams best interest as it helps immensely with everything. Once the extension is completed the dominos begin to fall.

I made this thread a few days ago on the Giants message boards, thought I'd share.

Cap Space for teams (sorted from most cap space to least cap space): as of March 10, 2013

Giants' Cap update post Jenkins & Restricted Free Agents:

Last night, before the Jenkins signing, the Giants were $10,332,113 below the cap. Jenkins's cap number was reported to be $1.816 M by Ohm Youngmisuk.

There's also the combined Cap number, for the Giants' 3 tendered RFAs (Cruz, S. Brown, & A. Brown) to consider:

Quote
$1,816,000 (cap # for C. Jenkins) + $6,925,000 (Cap # for 3 tendered RFAs) = $8,741,000

$10,332,113 - $8,741,000 = $1,591,113

As can be seen, the Giants are estimated to be $1,591,113 under the cap at this time, about 22.5 hours before the start of free agency.

what's numbers with asterisks for? that's supposed to be next to patriots' superbowl wins only..

and so, if they extend eli's contract, it save them more room?

Ya, hopefully we can land some young TE and develop him well.
