I want Webster back if he agrees to take much much less, he still has a lot left in the tank, just had an off year.. it happens.

Diehl I'd want for the vet min to serve as depth, nothing more.

Webster sucked this year. We need somebody better.

And prior to that he was top 5-10 for years.

We won't find anyone better. C-web will bounce back... I just hope he agrees to take a huge pay cut or he's gone. Has to realize we can't afford him.

Pay cut you mean. Him and diehl both have to take a huge pay cut otherwise we can't afford them. Their salaries this season are way too high.

Webster takes pay cut, Baas restructures contract

NYG CB Corey Webster takes pay cut, will remain w/Giants in '13, the final yr of his contract. Salary goes from $7.25 million to $4 million

Jenny Vrentas ‏@JennyVrentas

Baas did convert $3M of base salary to signing bonus, per someone who has seen specifics. Cap number for '13 drops from $6.725M to $4.725M.

Baas' cap numbers over rest of contract: $4.725M ('13), $8.225M ('14), $8.475M ('15). #nyg

Key distinction on Giants stuff: Baas lowering his base is NOT a pay cut. Webster, per @kimjonessports report, is a pay cut.

• Today's moves with Baas and Webster created 5.25 million more dollars in cap savings ($2 M for Baas, and $3.25 M for Webster).

• The total amount of dollars that the Giants are under the 2013 salary cap now after today's moves with Baas and Webster is $9,082,113
• If you subtract the $6,225,000 for the Restricted Free Agents (RFAs) from the $9,082,113 amount then you'll get $2,857,113.

If the Giants don't make any more moves other than tendering their RFAs between today and next Tuesday, March 12th, when free agency starts, they'll be $2,857,113 under the cap.
• Odds are that they're not done.

• A move will be made with Diehl, one way or the other. It makes no sense to keep him on the team with his cap number not matching his performance at this moment in time.
• A restructure involving Eli can also be on the horizon.

• The Giants will kick the can down the road as far as they can with respect to his Eli's contract; March 8th was the date they announced his restructure last year, so don't be surprised to see the same thing happen again this year--which would be just in time before the start of free agency.
• Rolle is another guy I'd keep my eye on with respect to a possible salary restructure.

• I'm 100% positive that more moves are on the way because the Giants are going to want to re-sign some of their own FAs as well, never mind those from the outside (most likely of the bargain basement variety).

Hey bud, definitely, he will bounce back next year, count on it. Everyone acting like one bad season and he's garbage now.... hilarious.

Baas restructure also doesn't hurt us because it lowers the hit over the years, so he won't see all that money if we cut him.

Now to cut Diehl or have him agree to take the vet min.... he should agree to that no problem or kick rocks...

Taking the wifey out to lunch I'll be back, good to see you lurking :)
