draino, I want to see more plays like this and maybe I'll believe in Teddy Bridgewater. I'm still on the fence regarding him only because it's a deep draft class for quarterbacks. I'm still on board drafting Jadeveon Clowney number one but I wouldn't be upset with Teddy. If he has a sensational bowl game then I'll probably be convinced he's the guy.

A lot depends on who the new head coach is. If it's Lovie Smith and Jay Cutler becomes available, I think we'll go with Clowney.
If it's Jon Gruden it's a roll of the dice because Gruden likes both Bridgewater and Clowney. So who knows right now. It's too soon to tell.

I actually felt with Teddy Bridgewater's skill set that he'd have been a good fit with Gary Kubiak still around but now that he's gone I don't know anymore.

With a healthy Arian Foster, Owen Daniels and an upgrade at right tackle. I could see the potential on offense but man it's so hard to pass up on Clowney, IMO. We had an NFL high seven pro bowlers on offense just a year ago and for the most part all of those guys will be back in 2014 except maybe Schaub. Our defense is in shambles right now with not much talent to speak of outside of J.J. Watt and Brian Cushing, when he's healthy, and he hasn't been since 2011.

I still think we'll go Clowney over Bridgewater. For now... But obviously that may change.

The Clemson left tackle was borderline holding him on that play it looked like.

Jadeveon Clowney's worth ethic reminds me of Dwight Howard and James Harden. The guy can be great when he wants to be. As a Houston sports fan, I don't know if I can handle another one of those amazing talents that holds back on too many plays. That's my only concern. I like guys who can play 100 % full effort for most of the game. This was the same knock on Mario Williams when the Texans drafted him number one overall back in 2006.

But if our new coaching staff hires a 4-3 defensive coordinator then I think it's a no brainer. It's going to be a fun off-season. Every day we'll be discussing do we want Bridgewater or Clowney. Or even Anthony Barr, who could be that special pass rusher we've been lacking for a long time.

Anyways, I posted videos of their last game respectively. At least until the bowl games. Which I'm eager to watch for both Louisville and South Carolina.

A little later in that quarter. Even when he was beat he still had the awareness to make the tackle for loss.

His talent is undeniable. His work ethic, faking injuries according to some. That's the only down side. Right now, I'm cautiously at 70 % for Clowney and 30 % for Bridgewater. But by the end of the bowl games I might be 50 % on both.

Here is the updated 2014 NFL Draft positioning

http://www.gbnreport.com/weeklydraftorder.html

1. Texans 2-11
2. Rams (from Redskins) 3-9
3. Falcons 3-9
4. Buccaneers 3-9
5. Vikings 3-8-1

At 12 noontime today (central time) all the four teams behind us play at the same time so keep an eye out for their scores
Redskins hosting Chiefs, Falcons at Packers, Buccaneers hosting Bills and the Vikings at Ravens.
There is less importance on the Vikings because that tie kind of messed them up to be honest.

If the Redskins, Falcons and Buccaneers can all win one more game... The Texans can still clinch the first overall pick by winning one of their final three games against the Colts, Broncos and Titans. I would love to have the first pick locked up after we lose the next two games to the Colts and Broncos.

Because I really want to see the Texans beat the Titans in that final game. I'd hate to end the season with 14 losses in a row. We can sweep the titties and go 2-0 against them in 2013. That would be nice. But if we have to lose to the Titans the final game then I'm all in favor of tanking that game if necessary. LOL

So come on Redskins, Falcons and Buccaneers. Please win one more game. I hope all three win today. I'll settle for two of them winning today.

The NFL Network mentioned Bill Cowher as a serious candidate to coach the Texans. I didn't even realize he had a desire to coach again? Love Smith and Jon Gruden are the other two. I know that Texans owner Bob McNair wants an experienced head coach who's had success before.

Bill Cowher was on Houston sports radio back in February. Maybe he wants to coach the Texans now that the job is available.

He mentioned he could win the Super Bowl with the Texans. I don't doubt that at all. He'd be the perfect fit.

Gary Kubiak buys Houston Chronicle ad to thank team, fans, city

Former Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak bought a full-page advertisement in the Sunday Houston Chronicle to deliver a message to Houston.

The ad appeared on Page C3 of the Sunday sports section.

Kubiak was fired on Friday, just three games shy of eight full seasons. Kubiak finished 61-64. Kubiak is a Houston native, former Oilers ballboy and former St. Pius X and Texas A&M quarterback. It’s a rarity, if it’s ever happened, when a fired coach buys an add to thank people. A truly classy move by Kubiak.

Kubiak is a class act. This was a decision that was best for both sides.

Ryan, I didn't really believe that Teddy Bridgewater was as amazing as people said he was, either, until I studied him more closey.

He looks really, really good. He's very mobile in the pocket, and he can make some incredible throws. He is a very accurate passer. If we get the first pick, I think we should draft a QB, and not Clowney. In this league, you need a QB, especially with all of the rule changes favoring offense and the passing game.

I just feel that Jadeveon Clowney would be the safer pick. We've been down this road before in 2002 and 2006, owning the first overall pick both years and debating whether to select David Carr versus Julius Peppers or even Vince Young versus Mario Williams (with Reggie Bush in the mix). Unless you are certain that quarterback is a sure thing like Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman, which don't come around very often, it's just hard to gamble on a quarterback more times than not.

Most of that time the dominating defensive player with that type of freakish size and skill set do pan out quite well in the pros. But I do agree that you need a good quarterback to win games in the NFL. And right now we don't have one so I'm open to drafting Teddy Bridgewater. I just don't think he'll be any more special in the NFL than say, Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III or even Russell Wilson, who was a third-round pick.

1. Texans 2-11
2. Rams (from Redskins) 3-10
3. Falcons 3-10
4. Vikings 3-9-1
5. Jaguars 4-9

Sunday at noontime the Texans play at Indianapolis where they are 0-11 all time in franchise history.
The Redskins play at Atlanta. While I hope they can tie one of them is likely to lose at least.
Kirk Cousins is making the start for Washington. Mike Shanahan wants RG3 to be healthy for the off-season workouts.

EDIT: I meant to write that one of them is likely to win. The Redskins and Falcons game. That's good for the Texans. LOL
