But Dallas is not the immediate threat to the Giants. The Redskins are far more dangerous and possibly the Eagles will be a factor in 2013.

Wide receiver Domenik Hixon would like to return to the New York Giants in 2013, his agent, Eric Metz, told the New York Post on Wednesday. In order to help facilitate that, Metz said he will meet with members of the Giants this weekend in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine.

Initially signed as a special teams ace in 2007, Hixon quickly developed into a quality asset for the Big Blue offense. He established a rapport with quarterback Eli Manning and eventually catapulted himself up the wide receiver depth chart.

Unfortunately, a torn ACL forced Hixon to miss the entire 2010 season, and a re-torn ACL resulted in him missing 14 games in 2011.

Perseverance was the key, and Hixon returned to health and the field in 2012, hauling in 39 passes for 567 yards and two touchdowns. And, as usual, he was highly underrated by media and fans alike, despite being one of Manning's most trusted go-to targets.

In 61 career games with the Giants, Hixon has caught 102 passes for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns. He's also been an incredible special teams asset, and was the last Giant to return a punt for a touchdown (2009).

When the New York Giants originally acquired linebacker Keith Rivers from the Cincinnati Bengals for a fifth-round draft pick, they did so with hopes that he would stay healthy and prove to be a steal. Unfortunately, that did not happen and Rivers was plagued with a variety of injuries, as he has been his entire career.

The five-year veteran ended up playing in only 11 games, mostly as a reserve, collecting 44 tackles and recovering one fumble. However, he did show flashes that once led to him being the 9th overall pick in the draft, and it may have been enough for the Giants to consider bringing him back in 2013.

    “There will be discussions with the Giants about Keith returning," Rivers' agent, Andrew Kessler told the New York Post.

The Giants are in need of more depth at linebacker, but health has clearly been a key component of the decision making process for General Manager Jerry Reese so far this offseason. If he feels Rivers can actually stay healthy in 2013, there's a legitimate chance he'll return. If not, his cup of coffee with the Giants is empty and it's time to move on.

In addition to Rivers, the agent of linebacker Chase Blackburn says the team has reached out to them and expressed an interest in him returning.
