The issue with trading away talent to raise chances at the top pick is it isnt close to guaranteed. Only one team gets it, so if there are multiple teams tanking (jets and jags), at least one is leaving disappointed.
Jags out-bad'd the jets.
Ramsey and Ngakoue both forced trades. We didn't trade them away to tank. They wanted out and cried their way out. Ramsey went as far as milking a back injury, so he didn't have to play and could get his way.
Cutting Fournette made this team better. James Robinson is a far better player than Fournette is. It's not even close.
Trading Campbell away for a 5th round pick was a little much. That made us a worse team, but he was 33 years old and starting to show it with some declining play. It also saved us like $17m in cap space. Same goes for trading Bouye. We needed cap space and it saved us another $13m or so.
