This just a joke or did he not get one?
During the 2014 ESPY Awards on Wednesday night, there was a pretty awesome moment with some of the best athletes in history on the same stage at the same time as Peyton Manning was presented with the award for Best Record-Breaking Performance by NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino and current NBA star Kevin Durant.
If there was ever a more deserving athlete in history for this award, you’d be hard-pressed to find him or her.
Last season, in leading the Denver Broncos to the AFC Championship and subsequent Super Bowl appearance, Manning shattered the records for both passing yardage in a single season, previously held by Drew Brees, and passing touchdowns, previously held by his nemesis, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
It was amazing to watch Manning pull all of that off last season, considering that there were some that thought he would never step on the field again following his neck surgery.
But not only did he get back on the field, he got back on it and became better than he ever had before, and the scary part is that there’s more to come.
