Hill is playing as far as I know. He was cleared for contact / cleared concussion protocol. Lord knows we need him.
Granted, I would hope we run the ball more often than not. Suffice to say I want less turnovers and less penalties, but I feel like Marty M. is gonna want to try to air it out, since the Falcons tend to give up a lot of passing yardage, which might lead to another piss-poor performance by Geno.
Atlanta is a much better team at home, but like you said, I have a strangely decent feeling about tonight. Dunno why. Jets have been playing really bad. But are somehow 2-2 at the time of this writing. I'm feeling the secondary might actually do a better job than last week, and the run game might have some success here, and as much as I hate on Matt Ryan, he is quite the regular season home-game warrior (34-6 I think is his home record). Either way, a 10.5 point spread is fairly generous, and I believe it will be closer than people think.
I'm not expecting the Jets to shock the world, but if Geno gets his head on straight and doesn't show us another 4-turnover performance or something unfathomably bad, I think it'll be pretty close.
Key points - Penalties, Turnovers, rushing yards, etc.
I know the field position / field goal game is not how things go in the Georgia Dome, and we shouldn't be afraid to take the shots with the deep ball - but understand that moving the chains is the priority, and fundamentals can't be forgotten. 3 yards and a cloud of dust, as they say. Bottom line, I think that it's a winnable game for a team that plays smart and runs the ball with an opportunistic defense. That said, I'm expecting the Jets to blow some coverage and allow like some 80 yard TD to Roddy or some dumb shit, and to be mismanaged and have a series of "incomplete, incomplete, incomplete, punt" or whatever.
In summary, a properly coached Jets team has the potential to win this game, and I hope for damn sure this is done properly, because I fucking hate Atlanta, but it's almost a surefire thing that somebody fucks up somewhere and it'll be a Monday night with some embarrassing moments for both teams.
