By far the best thing I did was get Peyton and Luke, Peyton is so accurate I never have a problem throwing to covered receivers because he leads them properly.

yea i was almost getting bored grinding. then i finished my style challenges and bought 200k the same day. now it's pretty fun lol. i hated playing defense before, especially since all madden seemed so cheap. but now i stacked my defense and it's pretty fun lol.
i still only use manning about 50% of the time. i use walter peyton in my pistol and shotgun for the read option threat. i can see myself going to a more standard offense once i start playing vs people tho.
e: jamaal charles is nasty at running the sweep. i just got the 92 version. he has a bad stiff arm, so i may trade him for a lacy or peyton hillis eventually, but his speed is awesome once u hit the corner.
