LOL, pairing this guy with J.J. Watt is going to be unfair. The rest of the NFL better hope we win a couple games in the final six.

Texans are now on a 9-game losing streak, which is a franchise record.

We lost to the lowly Jags. Gotta keep the tanking up, this was arguably the most important game all season for the #1 pick.

Tampa Bay beat the Lions on an amazing interception deflection off a nice hit on Calvin Johnson inside the 5 yard line. Just another team we were able to leap frog. The Vikings are tied late against the Packers and it's going to overtime. Hopefully the Vikings win but if not it's no big deal. They'll win another game this season.

We own the tiebreaker with the Falcons based on strength of schedule but hopefully the Falcons can win another game. The Jaguars will beat us on Thursday Night Football at Jacksonville in a couple games for their third or fourth win of the season. I think the Jaguars can beat the Browns next Sunday.

The Texans will lose to the Patriots next Sunday to reach 2-10. We just have to keep losing and finish 2-14. That will likely net us the first overall pick. Our remaining schedule: Patriots, at Jaguars, at Colts, Broncos, at Titans. So there is a good chance we'll finish with 14 losses in a row.

And even if we land in the top 5, I'm good with that. We can still draft the QB of the future in this deep class.

#1 would be nice, though. Who do we take? Clowney? Bridgewater? Manziel???

Top 5 picks in the 2014 NFL Draft right now

1. Jacksonville 2-9
2. Houston 2-9
3. Atlanta 2-9
4. Minnesota 2-8-1
5. Tampa Bay 3-8

All the Texans have to do now is lose all five games left, including the game at Jacksonville in a couple Thursdays, and the first pick is ours. Due to strength of schedule, we would own the tiebreaker with the Falcons but not with the Jaguars so it's important the Jags win a third game. The Falcons will probably win a third game but it doesn't matter if we lose out and finish 2-14 with 14 losses in a row.

I'm so glad the Vikings picked up that tie with the Packers today. It works just like a Vikings win when it comes to draft positioning.

I'm desperately wanting the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Go and get it, Houston Texans!

We could trade the first overall pick for a King's Ransom because it's a strong draft class. With so many team needs, I wouldn't hesitate to trade down and pick up extra picks (we could stock up and make a killing), while still landing a big-name player in the first round.

Personally though, I still think we should draft Jadeveon Clowney if we're in position to do so. The reason is because we'll probably have a new coaching staff next year and a new defensive coordinator that will play the 4-3 defense. Having J.J. Watt at left and and Jadeveon Clowney at right end would be a nice defensive line in place for the next ten years.

We do need a quarterback so I wouldn't rule out Teddy Bridgewater just yet. Or even Johnny Manziel but I don't think he's going to be drafted that high. I've got a gut feeling that Johnny Football will surprisingly slip much farther down than people think a la Aaron Rodgers way back in the day. We can possibly use our early second round pick, along with a third or fourth rounder, to move back up into the first round and maybe end up with both Clowney and Manziel. We will have some options which is what makes it fun.

If for some reason we end up with a top five pick and not the first overall pick...
Then guys like Anthony Barr, Jake Matthews and C.J. Mosley are options as well.
But I'd rather have the option to draft Teddy Bridgewater or Jadeveon Clowney.
