Texans’ Jackson, Mays game-time decisions vs. Raiders

Quote
An injury-depleted Texans defense could be even weaker Sunday against Oakland at Reliant Stadium.

Cornerback Kareem Jackson and linebacker Joe Mays didn’t practice Thursday and will be game-time decisions versus the Raiders. If Mays can’t play, he’d be replaced by recently signed Jeff Tarpinian.

The Texans are already missing linebacker Brian Cushing and safety Danieal Manning due to season-ending injuries. Punter Shane Lechler has been hospitalized with the flu.

Jackson (sternum) and Mays (oblique, knee) were injured last Sunday during a road loss to Arizona.

Oh yeah. Tank mode in full effect. We should allow Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt to rest also. LOL
I heard Gary Kubiak is thinking about playing Matt Schaub again. Please do so. Case Keenum is a baller.

If we lose these next two games at home against the Raiders and Jaguars, we will become the new frontrunners for the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. We currently have the 4th pick at 2-7 right now. I honestly see us finishing 2-14 with 14 losses in a row.

No way we will beat the Broncos, Patriots and Colts. That leaves four winnable games left against the Raiders and Jaguars at home and the Titans and Jaguars on the road. But those teams have a lot better special teams play and kickers than we do. I think most people are going to be surprised when we lose twice to the Jaguars and once to the Raiders and Titans but I won't be.

Randy Bullock will continue to miss costly field goals for us. People forget the Raiders, Jaguars and Titans all have three of the best kickers in the game. Not to mention our defense is beat up and horrible right now. Even the best collegiate teams could move the ball down field on our current defense.

I believe the Texans will find a way to clinch the first overall pick in the 2014 draft. At this point, I do want it.
Game planning for the Texans: Double J.J. Watt and Andre Johnson. Do that and it's an easy win.
Andre Johnson has 5 TD catches in his last two games. So the Raiders, Jaguars and Titans need to slow him down.

The Raiders are 0-4 on the road this season. Uh oh. Terrelle Pryor is also hurt but he should play on Sunday. I do like the fact that everybody is picking the Texans to win this game. It sets the stage for a potential upset (trap game) and road win by the Raiders. Just like they did the last time they came to Houston.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nbc-yahoo-sports/raiders-terrell-pryor-admits-kept-knee-injury-secret-150637737--ocid.yahoo.html

"Backup Matt McGloin took first team reps and practice squad quarterback Tyler Wilson ran the second team. If Pryor can’t play, McGloin would start and Wilson would get promoted to the 53-man roster. That hasn’t been determined yet. In fact, Pryor is still expected to play Sunday against the Houston Texans."

I'm going to enjoy Sunday's game. No matter if the Texans win or lose, it will feel like a win-win situation to me.
A win to end our seven-game losing streak would be nice but long term wise, we would benefit from a better draft pick.

This season is already a dumpster fire, but I hope AJ gets another 15K yards season and break his single season TD record with Case throwing to him. He only needs 4 more TD to tie it, 5 to break it. Unbelievable that he has never gotten more than 9 TDs in a season. Another 15k season and 10+ TDs would probably get him in the HOF.

I was watching the Texans show on CSN Houston. They said if Shane Lechler is unable to play on Sunday due to being in the hospital with the flu that Randy Bullock will be the emergency punter. That clown will cost us the game not only with his pathetic field goal attempts but I can see him making a few blunders while punting. We'd be better off going for every fourth down.

No worries. Case to Andre 80 yards bomb for every play.

Do the Raiders even have any good players on defense? I don't want to see our high draft pick disappear on Sunday.

I would prolly say their best player is Lamarr houston DE or one of their lb's they do have tracey porter at cb tho and charles woodson as one of the safeties. Not sure if he's playing but hands down their free safety is the best player on the team but i thnk hes out. Cannot remember his name like tyrone or someshit :)

Drew Brees believes Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel will be a great quarterback.

I suppose we could still draft a quarterback like Johnny Football if we somehow fell down (top 10) as oppose to the top 5, but I'd rather pick one of those elite defensive players (Clowney, Barr or Mosley) or a franchise offensive tackle like Jake Matthews. I'm not sold on Teddy Bridgewater but I'll take a close look at him tonight when the Houston Cougars play at #20th ranked Louisville on ESPNU at 7 PM Eastern.

The Texans have a 15 % chance right now to end up with the first overall pick.
If we lose these next two games it will likely move up to a 60 % chance.

HOUSTON -- Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor will miss Sunday's game because of a lingering right knee sprain, meaning undrafted rookie Matt McGloin will start against the Houston Texans. McGloin, who played at Penn State, was initially seen as a "camp arm," according to Allen. But after playing in mop-up duty against the Eagles and completing seven of 15 passes for 87 yards, McGloin is a starting NFL quarterback.

Those boo birds at Reliant Stadium are going to be extra loud if we lose to an undrafted rookie quarterback tomorrow but I'm not going to be surprised. I still think the Raiders can win this game. I'm going to enjoy the game on CBS at 12 noontime. I wish it kicked off right now.
