Tuck Vows To Return To All Pro Level In 2012

“That’s what it’s going to be for me, getting back to the Pro Bowl, All-Pro type status that I’m accustomed to playing at,” Tuck said. “I’ve been watching film of myself the last couple weeks and it’s just frustrating to see that I haven’t played to that standard and that’s going to be a definite focus for me.”

Tuck played poorly across the board in 2012, and faded down the stretch. Not only was he failing to reach the quarterback, but also began to suffer against the run. He finished the season with only four sacks – his lowest total since 2006 – and had little impact elsewhere, failing to force or recover a single fumble.

For the second year in a row, Tuck also struggled with injuries – most notably, a lingering shoulder issue that's become a reoccurring problem since being tripped by Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Flozell Adams in 2009.

“[Staying healthy] is going to be a huge focus for me to make sure I do my due diligence this offseason, training and eating the right things to make sure that next year is a normal Justin Tuck year compared to last year,” Tuck added.

Great to hear. He's not even 30 yet right? He's still got A LOT left in the tank.

Guy just has to stay healthy. It was pretty disappointing watching him the last few weeks, but he is really taking a lot more flack than he should be for this season. He was still a fairly huge presence despite the injuries, he just didn't get the sack numbers.

He looked like he lost his passion for the game... but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and look forward to watching him play this season. I think they should assign Rolle as Captain of the defense instead of Tuck. Let Tuck worry about playing not talking to the media after a loss. Rolle calls it like it is which is what I love.

I'd lov to resign Osi but I'm not sure that will happen even though Reese loves the guy.

A healthy motivated Tuck means nightmares for the NFL. JPP will be back to his dominance I have no doubt in my mind. I think Tuck's attitude really had a negative impact on the entire team specifically the defense.

How can he be a captain if he is moping all the time? Let Rolle be captain.
