Top 5 picks in the 2014 NFL Draft right now

1. Tampa Bay 1-8
2. Jacksonville 1-8
3. Minnesota 2-7
4. Houston 2-7
5. Atlanta 2-7

The Texans currently own the fourth overall pick. Ties between three teams or more are broken by the worst opponent winning percentage (strength of schedule), aka, having an easier schedule actually helps you. A coin flip can also be used after the season between two teams that are tied.

The Texans final seven games (4 home, 3 road): Raiders, Jaguars, Patriots, at Jaguars, at Colts, Broncos, at Titans

Obviously, if we can lose twice to the Jaguars that will help us secure a top two pick. I doubt we'll win many, if any, of these seven games left. The Texans have lost seven games in a row. The morale inside the locker room isn't so good. You have guys like veteran Ed Reed that is blaming the coaching staff, specifically Wade Phillips, who was an interim head coach and defensive coordinator for that one game against Arizona. Gary Kubiak is expected to be back to coach the game against the Raiders on Sunday.

DE Jadeveon Clowney, OT Jake Matthews, DE/OLB Anthony Barr or ILB C.J. Mosley

Those are the four players I want the most. As long as we're in the top four, like we are now, we'll be guaranteed to land one of them.

I don't think we need a quarterback with a high pick in the first round. Case Keenum is just fine and has played well in three NFL games. We can draft a quarterback in round three or four. It's a deep draft for quarterbacks. We need to add another young stud on defense - somebody to pair with J.J. Watt for the next several years - or we need to solidify our bad offensive line. Derek Newton is the worst Right Tackle in the NFL. Duane Brown is still a stud at Left Tackle but he's been hampered by injuries this season.

I believe we should go defense and offensive tackle in the first two rounds. It doesn't matter to me in which order.

I'm not going to lie. I've been having selfish desires about Jadeveon Clowney playing with J.J. Watt ever since that big hit he put on Michigan. I know that Clowney has received a lot of criticism this season. A lot of people are calling Clowney lazy and taking plays off, even faking injuries, but he does command a constant double team (two blockers) most of the game. A lot like Watt at the NFL level. It would be nice to have two beasts like that on the defensive line. I don't think J.J. Watt is happy right now. He needs a new friend to play with inside in the trenches. Somebody that has his type of skill and athleticism.

Clowney would be nice next to Watt... but it's about time we get a franchise QB. We already have a decent team, just need to get a better coaching staff.

The 2014 Houston Texans are going to kick ass next year with a healthy Arian Foster and Brian Cushing coming back. I believe just those two players could have made a difference in the past three losses by a combined seven points. This 2013 season has been a blessing in disguise. The perfect time to refuel that young talent level by picking high in every round. The draft is the best way for any team to instantly improve.

Back in 2005 when we went 2-14, that roster had very little talent. This 2013 team which may go 2-14 as well, actually has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball but injuries derailed us. Our special teams has been a joke also. I would release Randy Bullock right now. I don't know why he even has a roster spot other than to help us tank and lose these final seven games? LOL

If we were to end up with Jake Matthews, I don't think we would have any offensive line issues for the rest of the decade. I'm still torn between him and some of the elite defensive players in this draft. In the mean time, I just want to keep losing. Let's lose these next two home games against the Raiders and Jaguars. If that happens our chances to land the first overall pick will heavily increase.

I don't even think we have to tank. Our pathetic special teams will find a way to lose these games. Our defense, with the exception of J.J. Watt, is horrible as well. Our linebackers can't do anything right. We may have the worst inside linebackers in the league at the moment (Daryl Sharpton and Joe Mays) and our secondary is getting burned every game. Kareem Jackson sucks and Johnathan Joseph is washed up. Antonio "The Ninja" Smith isn't consistent enough. We don't have another good player on the defensive line. It's pretty much much J.J. Watt being double teamed every game.

I watched the Jaguars beat the Titans on the NFL Network replay. They can definitely beat us twice, in my opinion. We have J.J. Watt and Andre Johnson. Both are playing exceptional football right now. But two players isn't enough to win NFL games. The Jaguars may have a better team than us right now. Once we lost Brian Cushing, Arian Foster, Owen Daniels and Danieal Manning for the season, our talent level quickly became closer to what the Jaguars have. We had a much better team last season (11-1 start and finished 12-4) and the Jaguars nearly beat us in Houston. We had to pull that game out in Overtime.

Also to note: Atlanta plays at Tampa Bay on Sunday. The Texans are guaranteed to move into the third pick this weekend if they lose to the Raiders. The Jaguars may have a chance to beat the Cardinals at home, but I heavily doubt the Vikings will beat the Seahawks on the road. But there are seven games left and a lot can happen. If we lose out and finish 2-14, I'm fairly certain we will have the first overall pick.

This kid is going to be special just like his father was. He's the type of player who can play 15 years in the NFL and start every game at left tackle or right tackle. Bruce Matthews was a 14-time pro bowler and 10-time All Pro in the NFL for the Oilers and Titans. I'm not saying Jake Matthews will live up to his father's Hall of Fame career but he's capable of being every bit as dominant as an offensive lineman.

I know draino wants a franchise quarterback like Teddy Bridgewater. Maybe even Johnny Manziel or Marcus Mariota (if he enters the draft early), but I just think quarterbacks are a big risk. We have a better chance to hit a home run with our first-round pick if we select a defensive player or offensive tackle. The 2014 NFL draft is very deep at the quarterback position. We can draft a big-name quarterback in the third or fourth round, in my opinion. Somebody we can bring in as a rookie to compete with Case Keenum for the starting job in 2014. We may even sign a quarterback in free agency. We will clear some cap space once we release Matt Schaub after June the 1st.

One thing is for certain: Most quarterbacks can succeed playing with a dominating offensive line. You have to have the horses up front before you try and bring in a franchise quarterback. We learned that already drafting David Carr number one overall back in 2002. Looking back at that draft, I wish we had selected Julius Peppers, Dwight Freeney, Ed Reed or even Bryant McKinnie instead. It wouldn't have been such a bumpy ride from 2002 to 2006.

I keep going back to those four guys. I'll be very happy if the Texans draft either one of them with a high first-round pick.

We need a franchise player who's going to be with the team for a long time. A playmaker, a difference maker. Somebody who's dominating.

Texans release safety Ed Reed today.

The Texans just released Ed Reed. Our plans to tank just improved. Oh wait, since he sucked this may be a bad thing.

Also confirmed on the NFL Network. It's breaking news on their bottom headlines right now. Those comments he made about the coaching staff after the loss at Arizona seemed to be the final nail in his coffin. I wonder if another team will sign him? He's old and washed up.

No longer the great safety he used to be. But he still played well in the playoffs last year for the Ravens.
He had an interception in the Super Bowl against the 49ers. I thought he could play well for two more years.

DeAndre Hopkins Instagram Penis Pic? Hopkins Claims Account Was Hacked

Quote
About an hour ago, Texans rookie receiver DeAndre Hopkins sent out an Instagram video—shot first-person—of someone stroking a penis. Oops.

A rough season for the Houston Texans has gotten even more embarrassing. Rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has some explaining to do after an explicit video of a hand stroking a penis was uploaded to his Instagram account, and quickly deleted.

Deandre Hopkins ‏@Nukdabomb
Instagram was hacked, this is his girlfriend he's in meetings with no phone, have some respect ppl

The Texans are 2-7 this season, propped up only by the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars, who after earning their first win last week are nipping at Houston's heels. The video was deleted quickly, followed by a tweet that read, "Instagram was hacked, this is his girlfriend he's in meetings with no phone, have some respect ppl."

This incident isn't the first time Hopkins has been in media reports for embarrassing reasons. During the NFL Combine, Hopkins and roommate Mark Harrison, a wideout from Rutgers, were the occupants in a room that was found completely trashed.

The 2013 Texans season is becoming a zoo much less embarrassing. The 2014 NFL Draft can't arrive fast enough. I hope we tank and lose all seven games left. Ending the season 2-14 with 14 losses in a row should net us the first overall pick. I'm more excited about some of these elite players we can draft than I am the remainder of the season.

These next two games will be the most challenging, in terms of losing them. But I'm pretty sure the Raiders and Jaguars will find a way to beat us in Houston. They have two reliable kickers, Sebastian Janikowski and Josh Scobee, if it comes down to a close game. While Randy Bullock is a guaranteed miss. So we will definitely find a way to lose if it comes down to special teams play.
