As the AFC South winner, Houston would get an automatic home game at Reliant Stadium should they end up playing in the wild-card game. They've got a fighting chance to end up a top two seed though.

at Tampa Bay, bye week, at Jacksonville, Atlanta, at Cincinnati, Carolina, at Indianpolis, Tennessee

Looking at the final seven games for Houston, I believe a 5-2 finish and 11-5 record overall is a realistic goal. It's possible they may even do better than that. They're likely going to be the odds on favorites in every game left, including the home game against Atlanta and road game against the Bengals -- the two toughest games remaining.

Can't take any game lightly though. It's going to be great to have Andre Johnson back for the stretch run. Got to beat Tampa Bay before the bye week. This game is so huge. A win and Houston has total control in the final six games. A loss and they allow the Titans a chance to get back in the division race.

Josh Freeman will be harrassed and make some turnovers. The Texans defense is ranked 6th overall in the league right now.

It took a hail mary pass by Garrard to beat them last year though. But I agree, they better be on their A-game to win. Jags are pissed at their dirty play from last game.

Andre Johnson had a "very good" workout Monday. I wonder if he'll play versus Tampa Bay on Sunday? With the bye week coming up you would think the Texans are better off just giving him two more weeks to get back to 100 %? No need to rush a hamstring injury when he'll be needed for the playoff push.

Kubiak said Johnson's latest workout "went very good" but didn't know if the star receiver would be able to practice with the team on Wednesday.

"We're going to take it a day at a time, but we're back on the track to Andre getting back on the field here very, very quickly," Kubiak said.

"Hopefully that's this week," the coach said, "but I don't know. We'll see. But he's very upbeat, went through a tough little few days there [last week], but now we've come out of this thing fine and he's back on track."

The Texans have won three games in a row, improving to 3-2 since Johnson went down, and are getting ready for Sunday's road game against Tampa Bay. They have a bye after that, and it's possible Johnson could be held out until a November 27 game at Jacksonville.

He'll be playing against the Jaguars one way or another. LOL

I don't know much about Tampa Bay. Can the Texans beat them on the road without Andre or what? Or will they need him to be back?

The Texans are capable of being top 5 in both offense and defense before the season is over. They're 1st in defense now.

Defense (YPG) Complete List
1. Houston Texans 274.0
2. Baltimore Ravens 279.4
3. Pittsburgh Steelers 280.2
4. Cincinnati Bengals 301.2
5. Jacksonville Jaguars 307.0

Total Offense (YPG) Complete List
1. New Orleans Saints 445.1
2. New England Patriots 437.2
3. Philadelphia Eagles 434.4
4. Green Bay Packers 416.4
5. Carolina Panthers 415.1
6 San Diego Chargers 407.0
7 Dallas Cowboys 400.2
8 Houston Texans 393.6

Overall the Texans are 1st in defense and 8th in offense.

Passing offense: 14th, running offense: 2nd, passing defense: 2nd, rushing defense: 4th

The passing offense will improve once Andre Johnson returns. They've been slacking in the five games without him...

Just got to beat Tampa Bay on Sunday and get to 7-3. That's the most important thing right now.

Get it done, Texans. Trying to tie a franchise record of 4 wins in a row and get to 7-3 for the first time.

Andre Johnson is unlikely to play but will run again on Friday and be a game-time decision as of the Thursday Night reports...

http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2011/11/andre-johnson-misses-another-practice-unlikely-to-play-on-sunday/

“I’m almost full speed,” Johnson said. “Everything’s been going pretty positive. I’m excited about it. I feel pretty good. I’m going to run again (Friday), and we’ll see what happens from there. I’ll see how it feels to make sure I’m comfortable.

“A decision hasn’t been made. Me and coach Kubiak will talk about it and go from there.”

Kubiak didn’t rule out Johnson for the game against the Buccaneers, but it’s hard to imagine him playing if he hasn’t practiced with his teammates. He could sit out a sixth consecutive game before the Texans have their open date and return Nov. 27 at Jacksonville.

Andre Johnson will return against Jacksonville on November 27

Johnson ran on a separate field Friday as the Texans (6-3) prepared for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay (4-4). Coach Gary Kubiak has been saying for two weeks that Johnson is “very close” to returning, but not quite fully healed.

“We should come out of the bye knowing that he’s ready to go, and be a part of our team as we go into those last six weeks,” Kubiak said. “He’s doing really good, but the smart thing to do is give him this extra time to rest and continue to have some guys step up and take his place.”

Johnson said Friday that holding him out for one more game was “probably the best decision.” He sat out practice all this week, and planned to put himself through a hard workout again Monday.

“I still could go out and play football,” Johnson said. “We just felt the best thing was just to wait and go through the off week.”

That didn't take long to rule him out on Friday afternoon. Wasn't even a game-time decision. I keep hearing that he's close to returning every week but it makes sense to give him an extra two weeks to get back. Take advantage of the upcoming bye week. Hopefully Tampa Bay won't be too hard to beat on Sunday. They've already won three games in a row without Andre Johnson (3-2 overall) after the tough losses to Baltimore and Oakland. Houston can get to 7-3 if they keep running the ball effectively and playing good defense.
