Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will be one of many starters who won’t play Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons.
In Flacco’s place, rookie Tyrod Taylor will get his first start of the preseason.
Taylor will be playing behind the Ravens’ second-team offensive line. , the starting unit – which has only been practicing together for three days – will get the night off.
On the defensive side of the ball, stalwarts such as Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Jarret Johnson, Haloti Ngata, Ed Reed and Chris Carr will play spectators on the sideline.
The starting unit will include Terrence Cody, Arthur Jones and Pernell McPhee on the defensive line; Paul Kruger, Jameel McClain, Dannell Ellerbe and Prescott Burgess at linebacker; Domonique Foxworth and Cary Williams at cornerback; and Bernard Pollard and Tom Zbikowski playing safety.
With Bryant McKinnie, Ben Grubbs, Matt Birk, Marshal Yanda and Michael Oher sitting, the Ravens will start (from left tackle to right tackle) Ramon Harewood, Justin Boren, Bryan Mattison, Tim Barnes and Jah Reid along the offensive line.
David Reed and Torrey Smith will be the starting wideouts, with Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson suiting up at tight end and Jalen Parmele at running back.
