Yeah, I was so sad during the game. I doubt we'll make the playoffs now at 2-5.

But if the Colts lose tonight against the Broncos there would still be a slim chance to win the AFC South. We have to beat the Colts in two weeks. But the Texans could be only one game out of first place, and own the potential tiebreakers against the Colts and Titans, in two weeks from today which is huge.

It's a long shot but if we go 6-0 in the division it's very possible. Not having Cushing is just another mountain to climb.

Part of me wants the Colts to win tonight just to end this misery of a 2013 season. I don't even want to have any hope. LOL

If the Colts win tonight I probably won't even be excited for that Sunday Night game on NBC against the Colts on November 3.

Cushing came on a blitz and was blocked low by Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, and Cushing went down in obvious pain. Although Charles’s block was legal under NFL rules, it was a hard shot directly at the knees, and the Texans seemed to take exception to it, with multiple Houston players getting in Charles’ face afterward.

Also I wonder if we can restructure Cushing's deal in the off-season. No NFL contract is guaranteed. He had just received a big extension last month which I felt was a little risky considering last year's major injury. Some people are speculating on TexansTalk it could be career ending. Two major knee surgeries in one year. I'm sure he'll be back in 2014 but at what percent of the player he used to be?

Why Charles... Why???? The NFL has to clean that up.

Don't even want to see it again. Looked ugly enough seeing it live.

The other angle showed it better. It's scary to think about player safety but this can happen on any play pretty much.

Remember the old days. Emmitt Smith for example, he would square you up and block you chest high.

I understand that from Charles PoV well Cushing is an heck of a LB

still... I mean, throw your body on not go for the knees lol p.p

man I really liked the Texans chances this year

they finally get somehow secondary/safety help with Reed, Cushing healthy, adding a viable 2nd/3rd Wr option, strong running game with tate/foster

just Schaub shitting the bed p.p

That's a player's career likely never going to be the same. I don't remember an athlete who came back from two major knee surgeries in one year.

I think inside linebacker becomes a very big need for us going into the 2014 draft. We have to restructure the contracts to Cushing and Schaub. I think we will release Schaub after June 1 to save that cap space. I'm not sure Cushing will ever be the same. We probably won't know until the 2015 season.
