If Keenum struggles and Schaub is still hurt, they have two weeks to make roster changes and maybe bring in Vince Young or somebody before their next game. Going into the bye week is the perfect time to sign a free agent quarterback if it comes down to that. After the Chiefs game on Sunday the Texans will not play again until November 3. And that's a Sunday Night home game on NBC against the Colts. But from what I understand Schaub's injury isn't serious and he should only miss this one game against the Chiefs.

Honestly, the best QB on our roster is still Schaub. He gives us the best chance to win, even over Vince Young, IMO. That's the truth I think.

Also, in response to above, to be fair, Manziel most likely faces stauncher defenses in the SEC than Mariota does in the Pac-12. I haven't seen a game with Mariota yet, but Manziel's talents are undeniable.

Oregon just hammered #16th ranked Washington and they play #9th ranked UCLA and #13th ranked Stanford in back-to-back weeks coming up after Washington State. You can't deny they are playing some really good teams if they're able to go undefeated. And maybe then we'll see how good they really are if they end up playing Alabama, the so-called King of the SEC, in the National Championship Game.

I doubt Marcus Mariota will go pro after his sophomore season if Oregon fails to win the National Championship. I think if they win it all there's a better chance he will declare. The thing is, I think Marcus Mariota will be projected as a higher draft pick than Johnny Manziel, if for nothing else his bigger size. He has all of the combine appeal that teams like to see on the surface.

That being said, Manziel may be the better player in the pros. It's hard to say. Mariota would be the safer choice of the two. One thing is for certain, I'll take either as the Texans future franchise quarterback. I still like Aaron Murray from Georgia, who many collegiate experts compare to Drew Brees coming out of Purdue way back in the day.

Three more days until we are embarrassed by the 6-0 Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. I wish the game was a 12 noontime kickoff instead of 3:25 PM. I hate having to wait a little longer for a game. It's supposed to be a good doubleheader game for CBS and their ratings. I'm actually looking forward to the new Texans cheerleaders Friday Freestyle video coming out tomorrow a lot more than I am the game on Sunday.

The only way the Texans have a chance to keep the game close and possibly win is if they don't turn the ball over and if their running game and defense dominates. They haven't done that since the first half of the Seahawks game when they had a 20-3 lead.

And it's been a very long time since the Texans have beaten a good team on the road unless you consider the inconsistent Chargers a good team. Their inability to play good football for a full 60 minutes continues to be their downfall. If you look at every game the Texans have played this season, the best they have played in any given game was two good quarters. That screams to me a soft team with players who don't focus hard enough. That's why they're 2-4 right now.

We need more players like J.J. Watt, Brian Cushing, Andre Johnson, Arian Foster and Duane Brown. Guys who play hard all game long no matter what the score is. We haven't been drafting so well in the past few drafts and that's been part of the problem as well. Two guys that were supposed to contribute to our revamped pass rush, Sam Montgomery and Trevardo Williams, have been huge busts so far. Sam Montgomery isn't even in good playing shape right now. He's fat and overweight.

Randy Bullock, our unreliable kicker, has been kicking a little better lately but we passed on Greg "The Leg" Zuerlein in that draft class a few years ago. I'd rather have me some Legatron right about now. He looked awfully good in that game last Sunday. The entire Rams team did. Greg Zuerlein even nailed a 70-yarder in pre-game warmups.

Nothing. They have a bye week after the Chiefs game. Matt Schaub will be ready to start their next game against the Colts on November 3. That's alot of days off until then. They will either start Case Keenum or T.J. Yates against the Chiefs this Sunday. The other guy will be the backup.

Gary Kubiak is too stubborn of a head coach to believe in anybody else at this point. But I expect the Texans to draft a quarterback in May. It may be one of the deepest draft classes in a long time for quarterbacks. Especially if some of the underclassmen declare themselves eligible.

I'd imagine the Texans will select their quarterback in the first round, maybe the second or third round. They will definitely use a high pick on one. But until then they seem content to just ride out the season with the three QBs on their roster.

The 2014 NFL Draft starts on May 8 and ends on May 10. They moved it later than previous years.

Maybe the Texans defense will give an inspiring performance tomorrow and play hard for Wade Phillips.
His father, Bum Phillips, passed away at 90 years old last night. He was a Houston football legend.

Wade Phillips ✔ @sonofbum
Bum is gone to Heaven-loved and will be missed by all -great Dad,Coach, and Christian

I feel more excited about today's game than I have going into every other game this season. Just feels like a new and positive attitude with Case Keenum starting at quarterback. Still going to come down to our run game and defense playing well. Special teams has to play better also.
