Did I just get trolled by ABC Sports? LOL

Was watching the sports segment on ABC-13 in Houston. Right before the commercial break it said "Mario Williams is feeling good and healing faster than expected" a month after surgery. I thought it would be news of a miracle return just in time for the playoffs. But he donated five cars to the HPD and said he plans to have a career in law enforcement when he retires.

An article on the same story... http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/texans-olb-williams-feels-good-less-than-a-month-after-surgery/2011/11/01/gIQAzIetcM_story.html

Williams, the top overall pick in the 2006 draft, says his recovery is “actually going too well,” and he sometimes forgets that he underwent surgery less than a month ago.

“I think I feel too good,” Williams said. “I definitely should still have some things going on, but my healing is coming back extremely fast. I’ve got to remember that I had surgery when I go to pick up the remote control, or put on my shirt and things like that.”

Williams set no timeline on when he’d be able to restart football-related activities.

“We’re just relaxing, taking it slow,” he said. “There’s nothing we need to rush.” The Texans (5-3) have played well defensively since Williams was injured, with rookie Brooks Reed taking his position.

Houston enters Sunday’s game against Cleveland (3-4) ranked third in total defense (289 yards per game) and fifth against the pass (189 yards per game). The Texans rank ninth in sacks (20), but Williams thinks his team could improve its pass rush.

Quote
“They’re playing great, but we definitely need to get more sacks,” Williams said. “If I was there, if I wasn’t there, we need more sacks, in general. I tell those guys every day, ‘Are y’all gonna get some more sacks or what? Do I have to come back from my injury really quick, and try to get something going? I definitely try to push those guys every day.”

LOL, of course. Hurry and come back Mario!!!!! Would be nice if he somehow came back in January just in time for the playoffs. If he's feeling that good in less than a month imagine where he'll be in over two more full months?

I wish they would have Battle Red day every home game. It's better than Steel Blue and Liberty White.

Associated Press: After compiling 809 yards from scrimmage (499 rushing, 310 receiving and 5 total TDs) - more than any other NFL player this month - running back Arian Foster was voted AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. Foster’s 809 yards from scrimmage were the third-most in the month of October in the history of the NFL, trailing only Larry Brown’s 851 yards for Washington in 1972 and Eric Dickerson’s 829 yards for the Los Angeles Rams in 1983.

Let's see if Arian Foster can carry over that success into November. The Texans are 2-7 in the month of November over the past two seasons, which included a miserable 1-4 mark last year. Playing well in November this year will be critical if they expect to make a playoff push late in the season.

No Peyton Hillis for the Browns? I was hoping to see him play. Texans will not play Andre Johnson for a 5th straight game.

HOUSTON -- Houston Texans star receiver Andre Johnson will sit out Sunday's game against Cleveland as he continues to nurse a right hamstring injury.

Johnson, who will miss his fifth straight game, was injured in the Texans' 17-10 win over Pittsburgh in Week 4. He developed soreness after a hard workout on Monday that raised concern.

"We kind of had a little setback," Johnson said. "If I can't go out and be myself, then there's no reason for me to be out there," Johnson said. "It doesn't help the team. This isn't about me, this is about the team. If I can't go out and help the team, then I'm not going to be out on the field."

The Texans have their bye week after playing the Buccaneers in Week 10. Johnson says he has no target date in mind for his return.

May as well give him another three weeks off with the bye week coming up for the Texans. They can get to 7-3 without him but it's starting to become a broken record. Houston's passing offense hasn't been that great without him. They're obviously a run-first team right now with Foster and Tate anyways. Could be the best 1-2 punch in the league.

Nice 30-12 win over the Browns. I wanted the Browns to go without a Touchdown but McCoy hit Cribbs on that 3rd and goal pass in the end zone.

19 carries, 124 rushing yards and 1 TD for Arian Foster -- 12 carries, 115 rushing yards and 1 TD for Ben Tate

Another game the Texans great 1-2 punch at running back delivers with over 100 yards apiece. And they're doing it with a safety coming up every time -- no Andre Johnson to play cover 2 against. Houston's offense will only get better once Andre Johnson returns (3-2 without him).

I'm very pleased at 6-3. Hopefully Houston will win a big road game at Tampa Bay next Sunday. Get to the bye week at 7-3

5 tackles and 2 sacks for the rookie Brooks Reed. He's looking better every game. 7 tackles and a sack for Brian Cushing, who's playing even better than he did as a rookie. Also Connor Barwin had a sack. Texans had four total sacks and they entered the game tied with the Ravens for the most sacks in the AFC.

Not many teams can lose their two best players and play better as a team. What Houston is doing is pretty remarkable.

A great day all around if the Titans lose to the Bengals. Houston can start to make a move and gain some ground in the AFC South (1.5 games ahead). Houston can beat Tampa Bay this upcoming Sunday, get to 7-3 going into the bye week. Then come out strong with Andre Johnson back in the fold for the final six games.

All the pressure will be on the Titans to start a winning streak just to keep up with the Texans down the stretch and I don't think they're good enough to do it. The Texans have a better team with more depth at most positions compared to the Titans.

19 seconds left. Bengals leading the Titans, 24-17...

It's over. Titans lose!!!!! Texans pick up a full game. I never thought I'd be cheering for the Bengals but I was today.
