That scenario is an argument in favor of the pats resting their players next week. In your scenario, the Pats would get the benefit of resting players and getting the #1 seed even with a loss.

pats can't finish with a lower seed than KC no matter what

i dont think theres much reason to rest starters the entire game. give em at least the first half and see where you sit afterwards.
