They're going to have about 62 mil in cap space this off season. It will be interesting to see who they target because they gotta spend.

Reading between the lines the last few weeks leading to Fisch's firing
1. Player saying there was disconnect between Fisch and Bortles.

Ryan O'Halloran @ryanohalloran  ·  2h 2 hours ago
2. Fisch two weeks ago, talking about Bortles' off-season goals, but last week, refusing to talk about anything beyond Houston game.

Ryan O'Halloran @ryanohalloran  ·  2h 2 hours ago
3. Player saying Fisch-Bortles dynamic wasn't great on practice field in terms of teaching.

Ryan O'Halloran @ryanohalloran  ·  2h 2 hours ago
Be interesting to see fate of #Jaguars QB coach Frank Scelfo, whom Bortles is fond of. I would expect WR coach Jerry Sullivan to return.

Excited for the future. Lots of prospects at the OC position. It's also good to hear they are willing to spend to bring in some talent and experience. Our cap is huge. They need to tap into it big time.

They have to spend sometime between now and 2017. They don't have to blow it all on 3 players this off season, but they should be spending big on at least 1 player this off season. I wouldn't mind seeing Cobb on this team next season. Adding him, along with our trio of rookie/2nd year WRs, that would be a pretty good group. If Blackmon were to get reinstated, then that would make the WR group even that much better.

Either Thomas from Denver would be an option also. I think they'll most likely let Julius go, but I wouldn't have a problem with him coming here. Marcedes Lewis has a high cap number and isn't nearly worth it as a blocking TE. He still can't catch worth a shit.

The firing of Fisch was needed, but also a little bit of trying to save face on Gus' part imo. Something had to change and this Offense being the last and 2nd to last Offense in the league the last 2 seasons didn't help. Gus never should of went with a first time NFL coach to be the OC anyways. I hope this time he's smart enough to realize he definitely needs somebody with a good amount of experience.

I don't really like that Bortles and the rest of the young players are going to have to learn another new Offense, but at least they have some time and know what to expect now. I think a little time off will do Bortles some good. He then needs to come back and really focus on reworking and fixing his mechanics. His footwork and throwing motion really regressed as the season went on.

I'm not sure how I feel about Trestman. Obviously he would be a giant improvement over Fisch, but is he the right guy? No one can deny his work with Steve Young and Rich Gannon (especially Gannon). However, look at Jay Cutler. Look at the bears offense since Trestman was the HC. They are middle of the pack and in many categories, they were closer to the back. I believe Trestman was a offensive genius 10-20 years ago. Does he still have that spark now in today's NFL scheme? Dunno. Trestman was also fired 5 times in the past as OC. Granted some of these were because the HC was fired, but the numbers don't lie. He turned heads at times, and many other times, he flopped. I wouldn't be opposed to hiring him as a QB coach but I'm not sure about the OC position.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Greg Roman here. Or Shanahan. Although I don't think Shanahan would step into a OC role.
