The manual say they are both 16x, but after a good google search, I found: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=139584.0

Fucking MSI not mentioning that in their manual... rofl

ty buzzin. I guess I just can't keep both drives in this tower :(

Honestly you should return your SSD and get a new one. Get one that plugs in where you put the GPU in the 'new' slot. They are a little more money, but the performance on them is outstanding.

Damn, I just looked into these and they are way more expensive. I got a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO for $400 off amazon. I found a 512gb pcie ssd for over $500, but I'd rather just have the 1tb for $400. Hopefully in a couple of years pcie ssds will be more popular and the supply will increase/price will decrease.

I couldn't even believe how cheap that 1tb samsung ssd was. I remember looking a couple of years ago and 500gb ones were over $1k rolf

Yea the prices have gone down a lot over the last few months. Those PCIE SSDs used to be $2-3/GB. Not its under $1.

Have you gotten a chance to see a difference in your SSD over your normal HDD?

.... I have 7 TBs worth of storage.... Could easily fill all of it with movies if I wanted to.

Think about it from a larger perspective. 1 low def movie is ~4GBs. 1 High def ~15-20GBs. thats only a couple dozen movies in high def.

Bitch it's called delete and redownload it (which takes less than a few hrs these days with most connections) if you ever want to watch it again.

..... It takes me 1 hour/GB to download. would take an entire day to download a movie.

But for others who have a solid speed, they may also have datacaps, and you dont really want to risk downloading movies over and over again when they arent legit....

Because Prime comes with free 2 day shipping and that makes it worth it by itself?

Thats why I have both. Dont give a fuck about Prime Video but I easily get my moneys worth in shipping fees.
