Texans opened up training camp earlier today. Brian Cushing participated in the light individual drills only. He'll be limited for a few days.

Former Denver inside linebacker Joe Mays, who was suspended for one game and fined $50,000 last season for ear-holing quarterback Matt Schaub, will get a tryout.

Mays, 28, was waived by Denver last week. During last season, he suffered a fractured fibula.

The Texans need depth at inside linebacker. Brian Cushing is being brought along slowly after knee surgery. The other starter, Darryl Sharpton, is on the non-football injury list with a sore groin.



At least we know this guy can lay the wood, illegally or not. Jeez, Darryl Sharpton. Just release him and be done with it.

Arian Foster is on the training camp PUP list with a strained calf muscle but he's been getting some reps with Schaub.



That was yesterday. He looks fine. I think that strained calf muscle is just Arian not wanting to wear himself out doing all the drills.

10 more days until the Texans play at Minnesota in their first pre-season game. I can't wait to see some Texans Football again.
I still have that bad taste in my mouth the way the playoffs ended against the Patriots, but that will soon be a thing of the past.
