Why because Eli rode the coat tails of a super bowl caliber defense nothing more

Eli may have had a good defense (namely a great pass rush) to help out the offense those two SB runs, but it's not like he didn't make some clutch plays along the way. He got hot at the right time despite being a mediocre regular-season QB. That sideline throw to Cruz in the SB to essentially put the game away was just beautiful.

Especially in 2011, he was doing a lot to win those games. Stats don't tell the whole story of course, considering the context of some of those throws, but he definitely did his part--not to take anything away from the defense and run-game.

I will agree they had a really pair of running backs those years as well but Eli seems to me he plays the same now as he did those years
