You, Me and plenty of GMs would not like that. They want to see those guys go play. Injuries happen in this game, it's just apart of it. People want to see the best players play, plain and simple.

Plus it wouldn't do much for Clowney's image as a team-player if he sat out.

Exactly. There would be a lot of people upset, not just at the Pro level. Can you imagine how his teammates would feel. I'm sure there would be quite a bit of unhappy Gamecocks.
