They lucked the fuck out with Pettine. Browns have been trigger happy with management since they were reinstated. Granted, they made poor decisions in the first place that merited immediate replacements...

They've preached patience from the start. They talked about a 4 year plan from day 1. There's idiots who bring up the "Gus should be fired" every week, but they're idiots with no clue.

The owner Shad Khan isn't going to do anything. When he hired Dave Caldwell as the GM, the first thing they talked about was that it is going to take time. Khan knows we were restarting from the very bottom. When there's only 4 players left on the team from the 09-12 draft classes (yes 4 draft classes and only 4 players are left on this roster from them), it's no wonder why we had to do a full rebuild again.

Now, by the end of next season, if we continue to look exactly the same and only win 1-4 games. That's when there should be legit talks of rather Gus and crew get the boot.

Dave Caldwell has brought on a lot of talent to this team. He has had 2 very good drafts so far and some very good UDFA/FA pick ups. He definitely isn't going to go anywhere, any time soon.

He had leg/ankle injuries all last year and honestly I'd rather bring in younger guys regardless. Forsett isn't close to anything special.
