Oh wow.

I think their point was that at the end of the day, you have to take care of yourself and your family.

Their bottom line is that nfl organization doesn't care about their players but only their abilities. Sure the ring is nice but in terms of monetary value (excluding endorsement ofc) it's about 150k total if you win the super bowl (this is including all the games included). Player like Tate or Bennett aren't the type to get endorsement either since they don't stand out that much either. So they were saying that the extra 2-3+ millions might be worth it since there is no guarantee that Seahawks are going to win another ring.

its not the real Jeremy Lane lol

Bennett is absolutely correct that it is a business and as much as you might love the city and your teammate, you need to look after the interest of your family.

There are people saying that when Tate said that he would give a hometown discount, that was a mistake and he shouldn't have said that because Seahawks will use that against him and he's going to be paid less than what he really should have been paid.

cause the family cant live off of 5 million dollars lol

If you think they live the same lifestyle as normal people, you're delusional.

And most of the nfl players aren't doing it for just passion but it's also business for them as well. It's how they make their income.

To give you an life example...

If you're working at a company (and working hard/performing well, in fact, you landed a huge deal for your company) and you're paid 40k a year (and your family can live off that fine) and when it's time to give out pay raise, they won't give it to you since you should be loyal to the company. While another company is offering 60-70k a year for the same exact job and position you're in and they offer that job to you.

You're tell me, that it would be crazy for this worker to take that job?

You're a fucking idiot. My guess is you're some spoiled little rich kid. Nobody needs as much money as NFL players make. Does it allow them to live more than comfortably and do cool shit? Of course. Do they need it? No.

It's not about how much they make but how much they deserve and that pay scale is more or less set by the nfl past players and contracts.

The problem you're having is you're comparing your financial situation with the ridiculous amount that they make a year and only see the dollar figures and not the principle of the matter.

I COMPLETELY agree that they probably make more than they need. In fact, all athletes do and they know they do. It's not that I endorse it but that's the reality.

But the question that was asked to Bennett was, would you take a hometown discount and he said no. And I agree with that. He shouldn't have to. If Seahawks doesn't want to pay top dollar to a guy who performed well, then he should move on and take the contract of a team that is willing to pay. I don't see why there would be an animosity towards that... Most players do that anyways (there are exceptions like Larry Fitz ofc).

On a personal note, not rich, never had enough to be spoiled but I do believe in the principle that you should be paid what you earn and deserve.

NFL players..most nfl players..arent smart and dont invest money into businesses of their own...Then they wouldnt have to bitch about getting paid a certain amount. Take a fucking business class.

AND the only reason I DONT like drew brees is he has all this money invested in his own businesses but yet he still sucks his team dry of salary cap like a selfish little maggot.
