Bennett is absolutely correct that it is a business and as much as you might love the city and your teammate, you need to look after the interest of your family.

There are people saying that when Tate said that he would give a hometown discount, that was a mistake and he shouldn't have said that because Seahawks will use that against him and he's going to be paid less than what he really should have been paid.

You mean he could only be making 7 million a year as opposed to 8 or 9?!?!? How will he, let alone his family, ever survive???

The lifestyle that they live is completely different than how you and I live (well maybe not you but definitely me).

I think their point was that at the end of the day, you have to take care of yourself and your family.

Their bottom line is that nfl organization doesn't care about their players but only their abilities. Sure the ring is nice but in terms of monetary value (excluding endorsement ofc) it's about 150k total if you win the super bowl (this is including all the games included). Player like Tate or Bennett aren't the type to get endorsement either since they don't stand out that much either. So they were saying that the extra 2-3+ millions might be worth it since there is no guarantee that Seahawks are going to win another ring.
