Haven't seen much as far as Jags playing but the rookie seems to be doing okay.
He has exceeded my expectations already and we're not losing games because of him, unlike with Henne (he was a big reason). Bortles is putting the team on his back, he is already 100x the QB Henne is. He leads the entire NFL in 3rd Down Completion %. Not just Rookie QBs, but every QB.
He had a 70% completion game this past Sunday against the Titans and a 78% against the Chargers. He has a 67.8% completion rating through his 3 1/2 games and a 7.0 average. This is all while having 5-7 Rookies starting on Offense. Please somebody show me another team with that many rookies starting on Offense. Hell, half our team is Rookies and 2nd year players lol.
Bortles looks like he is the real deal. The game isn't too big for him at all. Every week you can see the game is slowing down a little more for him. He should of had his first win this past Sunday, but between stupid penalties and Cecil fumbling on their 10 yard line midway through the 4th quarter, we still had a chance to win the game at the end.
Of course hes made his Rookie mistakes. A couple real bad throws, a couple wrong checks, but that all comes with being a 22 year old rookie. In each game so far he has made some kind of a play that just makes you go "WOW".
